one of the luckiest owners of all with a small number of horses but dont see how he could have fallen out with henrietta

He always looked immaculate.

Appeared to be a very decent bloke and had great taste as he supported the Villa and ran his horses in the claret and blue! RIP.

met him briefly once , seemed a nice bloke and what a horse best mate was . superb jumper of a fence .

  Been on the Malbec Carla?  Been there, done that! 
I was lucky enough to spot Mate early and luckily backed him throughout his stellar career and only ever saw him touch one twig.  That was in the KG in which AP rode him and rousted him up at the second last.  As we all saw later a better one came along in Kauto Star but this great horse didn't jump with the precision of Mate.
