What a shame a unique commentator

Pretty sure his first game as a commentator was Hereford Newcastle

Oh no I can't believe it, we're very good friends,spoke to his wife Annie on Monday,we always have dinner together the first night of Cheltenham and we were arranging it as usual,he had a fall and broke his shoulder but was going to have physio and didn't foresee a problem getting to Cheltenham etc,Life is so sh1t at times.

A British icon, that's very sad to read.

Jimnast, his last game was Crystal Palace versus W.B.A. in 2018.
Motty did a lap of honour and got a huge round of applause from everyone there.

My mate reminded me of this .....Motty used to put cones in the parking space for his car (close to hotel entrance - bit cheeky ) when he left for Cheltenham ....One year my mate moved them to the far end of car park , as far away as it could get ......

Cheers Strontium,seeing the reaction and the wall to wall media coverage on him makes me realise even more how lucky I was to strike up the friendship with him. Been looking through all the messages and photo's we had together and feel so sad right now,he nearly always brought me a book when we met up and Paulo the last one he brought me was Victor's.
Also Paulo,we dumped the Dormy 7-8 years ago when they turned it into a spa hotel,ruined it,he went first and remember joking "You lead We follow".

Cheers Ribero , yes I stopped when it went four days or just afterwards , loved Victor's book too . A very young Nevo was in our group too haha .

Hi Paulo.yes remember Nevo being there,usually worse for wear was down at breakfast early 1 day and he was doing something with David Ashforth,he introduced me to David who always now comes and has a chat if we see each other on course.
