Connor Beasley, the rider of BURNING THE BAILS, which finished third, beaten 1 ¾ lengths, was asked to explain his riding throughout the race. The Stewards interviewed Beasley and viewed recordings of the race. Beasley explained his instructions were to drop the gelding in and get settled into a rhythm. He further added he didn’t want BURNING THE BAILS too keen from a low draw and a slowly run race. Beasley then explained that the gelding was caught flat footed from 2 furlongs out as the pace quickened, to then stay on strongly to the line passing tiering horses. His explanation was noted.

Just watched it, the reason the daft Knt was caught flat footed was because despite it only being a moderate pace, he let the ones up front quicken first. Thick as.
