Clacton - "Lord Howard de WALDEN not Waldron"

I think both Jimnast and I knew that. His spellchecker was playing up and I was trying unsuccessfully to be wittyGrin

Whatever became of The Thoroughbred Corporation, and their green and white striped silks? Made inroads into British racing in the late 90s but I cannot recall seeing those colours in 20 or so years.

Yep - White, Red collar and cuffs and Robertson tartan cap. Mr Mullion was much the same but with a tartan sash and without the red collar and cuffs.

Ballymore won the Irish 2000 Guineas first time out for Meg Mullion, sadly none of her children went into owning horses. One of her grandsons owns the well known Mayfair restaurant Kitty Fisher's. Megs husband Jim made his money in Hong Kong. They owned the Ragusa stud in Ballymore Eustace named after their Irish Derby and King George winner. The stud was sold to Sheikh Mohammed

I am certainly pleased that I didn't stand a bet I put on for a friend back in the day. £20 e/w Piccolo to win the Kings Stand at Ascot (won 33/1) and a £10 e/w double with a Dandy Nicholls horse that was fourth in the Wokingham, also at 33/1!

Correct Punchestown!    Now a hard one!   Whose racing colours were Silver Grey with Black Buttons and a Black velvet cap. Late 60's into the 70's. Another clue to follow if no one gets it.
