Some colours are kept or sold but some go. Sheikh Abu Ali Khamsin, Nicky Phillips, Gerry Oldham, Lord Roseberry, Carlo Vittadini, Lady Beaverbrook, Duchess of Westminster all come quickly to mind.

Amazing how nostalgic we all are. The Oh So Risky colours still turn up from time to time. I knew one of the syndicate who owned him and Elsie told them that he was a good thing for the Triumph. One of my biggest ever wins at 100/8. Lord Howard colours are now called the Plantation stud.

Ashleybank were in reality the Edinburgh Woolen Mills who went bust. Jim Joel had no children so the colours were retired. The Stanhope Joel colours still appear but on a much smaller scale.

I think you know this Sage, but others may not... The Crazy Quilt colours were first registered to Chesney Allen (Sussex boy, born and died) of the Music Hall Crazy Gang, hence the name. There have been several other harlequin/quilt colours over the years but these are the most famous.

Keep them coming. Wally Sturt in his heyday with Cima, Mole Board and Collier Bay plus some flat horses with Prescott is no longer a force.

Yes, a great owner in his day. There was a single horse running a year or 2 back owned by someone called Holiday in the same colours so probably a descendant.
