Handicap chases do not come a lot more competitive than the valuable 21f one at 2:40. Indigo Breeze looks like being all the rage, and has an attractive profile, but his stable-companion THE GOFFER appears to have been over-looked by comparison.
The latter beat Churchstonewarrior fair and square at Thurles in November, with the runner-up going on to fill the same berth in a Grade 1, and simply bit off more than he could chew against an on-song Ha d’Or at Fairyhouse next time. The Goffer was well beaten at Warwick on his latest appearance but is almost certainly better at this sort of trip than that three miles when conditions are testing. He looks worth a bet at a price.
