Got no chance against two of the hottest young hurdlers Ireland has had for Years...Lay it for plenty lads and if i am wrong i will never post on this Forum again that is how confident i am.....I mean a Honeysuckle at her best would not even cope with State Man or Vauban and she is on the sllde ffs.....Lay Lay Lay.

That's a couple of sleepless nights for honeysuckle layers.
Ground should be the quickest any of them has run on this season
A clear day forecast Sunday, so potential low sun issues. At the Xmas meeting, was it the last two hurdles that were omitted? And she's presently a slicker hurdler than State Man, so probably more a negative for Honey.
Biggest lay for a couple of Years buddy....Big respect to Honeysuckle for what she has achieved but her story is over.
And if you Mugs have any sense you will follow me in.
They rarely come back, especially against a Constitution Hill.
Interesting race but just a shame only a few trainers are bothering and none from over here.
Exactly Eric Honeysuckle Has ruled the roost for the last couple of Years and her last run was not great....I am a massive fan of both State Man and Vauban who will give Constitution Hill a run for his money at Cheltenham.
Why the heck Epatante is not in the field? She ought not to have at Doncaster (Gp 2) last weekend. I think Hendo with advancing age do make some very "questionable" decisions - too many to list; a smaller trainer will have undoubtedly run her here (GP 1) than in a mickey-mouse race (sp 2/9) at Doncaster recently.
'acey', laying Honeysuckle would be astute today. Nevertheless I cannot accept State Man or Vauban giving Constitution Hill a battle of equals; Constitution Hill won in a much quicker time than State Man and Vauban and so did Honeysuckle.
Imp i have said all along i would fancy either State Man or Vauban to beat Constitution Hill at Cheltenham and i am sticking to it.

Honeysuckle, State Man and Vauban are all nice horses and clearly above average but that is all. From what I have seen CH is exceptional by comparison. But only in comparison with above average horses. What we need is something exceptional to come along who will be a danger to CH. And I cannot see anything of that calibre at the moment. What we need is a Hardy Eustace, Brave Inca, Annie Power or Faugheen. I don't think any of todays runners are that good.
You Mugs can take all the 1-3 Constitution Hill for the Champion Hurdle all you like.
Constitution Hill is very very good but Stateman and Vauban are very serious opposition....That is me done on the matter.

We will all be a lot wiser (hopefully) at 3.15 today,personally I think State Man might be a bit better that it's getting credit for.
I don't think Honeysuckle is ready for the kn@ckers yard just yet Acey, remember her last race was over 2m 3fs+ on soft ground, was her 1st race since April and wouldn't have been 100% but was still travelling easily 2 out and outstayed by 2 very good stayers.
State Man and Vauban also 2 very good 2m hurdlers but think she'll sit in behind them before going past between last 2 to win with a bit in hand, well that's what Rachael told me anyway.

cant write her off after akll she has won multi champ hurdles in ire and england but dont think she would be improving at her age.
'saxon form', I do realise. But, Con's did a faster time than Honeysuckle when she won the Champion Hurdle. I hope State Man is not another San Roi who was touted as the chief protagonist to her.
It was an unusually flat performance last time.....lot of races , may well have had enough......I think retirement will be on the way after today.
If she's not on her game, i can see Blackmore being very easy on her late on; and with maybe one of the Elliott horses getting back some sort of form, my angle into this would be laying the near 1.1 for 3 places. But would be more than happy to see her stuff the 2 Mullins.

Anyone who thinks Constitution Hill is already past the post for the Champion Hurdle why not refrain from all bets before Cheltenham and place on CH instead , unless you're not happy with 33% or you're just a flutterer.

Might be just me but I thought Honeysuckle was slow at a lot of the hurdles and looked as though she wasn't too keen on jumping them.
she,s never jumped hurdles like a true champion hurdler ,just been that much better got away with it

Look how far Zanahiyr was behind her that race and how far she used to beat him by. Its the same. Beating Sharjah, 2 to 5 Lengths.
She is what she is 160-165 and runs very constantly to that mark every race. Don't think she has regressed at all.
Unfortunately a couple of younger horses are a bit better than that.
No reason to retire her to the breeding shed before Cheltenham.

Listening to the owner I think that might be it for her. What's really the point of risking a run in the Mares, none for me.
The owner said after race he goes with what trainer decides.
they will retire her after she pishes up in the mares...... trust me im a doctor

I must admit i was a shade disappointed with Vauban they were talking about a Melbourne Cup with him last Year...I wont write him off just yet.
