just seems a weird one.

As I said, it's been an age since I worked in the industry, but what VC firms' backers don't want to see is them sitting on cash - so they will take a lot of punts across their sector.
I don't know if Flutter were made to divest Oddschecker as part of the Monopolies & Mergers / Competitions Commission review of the Sky takeover by Paddy Power Betfair? |

that sounds feasible.

Skybet still owe me around £80. Invited me to enjoy some free spins so deposited £30 and won £50, there was no play through t & C,s to worry about. Tried to withdraw money and account locked by security, tried again and again but they basically stole my money. In protest I cancelled Sky Tv/Broadband and mobiles with them and put the whole lot with Virgin. For the sake of £50 it has already cost Sky £2860 in lost revenue and a platimum customer who had used Sky for the best part of 25 years. Skybet, Sky media and Sky News are best avoided at all costs.

Skybet Security locking peoples accounts doesnt amke any commercial sense whatsoever over pennies. Wonder what the owner of Sky would think if he/she/they knew Sky is likely losing fortunes in lost rvenue to nonsense at Skybet. Lets face it, once any firm rips you off you are going to cancel and boycott ALL of the services they offer for the rest of your natural.

@basilbrush
It has been a few years since Sky Bet were owned by the same people as the Sky TV/broadband/phone company, so I doubt they care. |

they stopped giving me free bets last year and I felt like telling them to poke their TV as well but I do like to watch all the F1.

Oxford English dictionary: Slybet- an organisation following the model best defined as "Let's open a bookmaking business- but we don't know anything about bookmaking- that's no problem is things get difficult we just don't pay and don't give reasons- well that's ok then".

Sky Betting & Gaming is a British-based gambling company, owned by Flutter Entertainment, with headquarters in Leeds, West Yorkshire and offices in Sheffield & Solihull. Sky Betting & Gaming consists of five core brands: Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo. Sky Betting & Gaming also operates popular, free-to-enter football prediction game Soccer Saturday Super 6.
In 2015, Sky plc sold an 80 percent stake in the company to CVC Capital Partners for £600 million,[1] with Sky retaining a 20% stake in the company and agreeing to a long-term licence of the Sky brand.[2] In 2018, CVC and Sky (then in the process of being acquired by Comcast) agreed to sell Sky Betting & Gaming to The Stars Group for £3.4 billion, which was then acquired by Flutter Entertainment in 2020.[3] Flutter continues to use the Sky name and logo, which are now owned by Comcast. |

same scenario repeated 100's of times on here:
Punter gets banned by x or y online betting company. Come on here to moan about it, claims to be innocent but says company won't tell them why is he banned. Punter is advised to put in a data access request to obtain all computer data, computer profiling data & phone data they have relating to him. Punter never does. has anyone ever heard of a banned punter actually bothering to put in a data access request to find out the reason they were banned? |

By:
ill be the first then Escapee. Not bothered at all about not being able to bet with Sky Bet but admit it is bothering me that they feel they have a reason for doing what they have done but i dont know what it is or have any recourse to question it.
|
|
By:
Keep us informed of any response to your request, broady.
|
|
By:
Receiving a data access request is a considerable burden for a company, and the laws concerning their response are in favour of the requestor.
go for it. |

They can't void the Haaland bet because if they did that they would be saying that every bet you placed since then was void and you'd be entitled to a refund.
Also what would stop any firm shutting anyone down who were perhaps on the brink of a huge pay-out by simply saying, sorry computer says no. |

Will do Escapee and thank you to all who have given me good advice. Sparrow i will post how i get on.
