... loaf of kingsmill brown and white bread at my local nisi/co op stores, 85p for a nice thick sliced loaf of bread at the m&s bp service station stores ,they also do a very good selection of those microwave bags of rice basmati,egg fried ,pilau etc for 50p a bag .......... also 2 litre milk semi skinned for £1.56p compared to £1.95 nisi .go figga ! cant be arshed looking for stewarts rises cost of living thread so here are a few money savers worth checking out as they say every little helps .

I just paid £4-50 for a pack of Anchor butter and i thought we really are fooked.
And that was at Tescos not one of the robbing convenience stores.

Are the Aldi baked beans still cheaper than the carrier bags?
£4 for butter ffs can see it must be very hard for some familys ,if you are on your own its gotta be tough as well if you only have one income stream.
The only reason i could afford it tangle is with all these abandoned cards i am saving a few bob.

We only use Anchor Butter Acey, on offer at our local Waitrose ( £3-75 ) still dear but we only buy
it when on offer. Have tried most butters but always end up back with Anchor. Hoping Ferns Lock in
the last at Thurles will pay for my next Tub. !!

I stopped buying Anchor when they switched from New Zealand to Britain.
Aye i dont think Anchor tastes as good as it used to...Mind you not much does nowadays.
tried that unsalted butter once .......a bar of lard woulda been a lot cheaper and taste roughly the same imo. have got used to clover now !
The wife stopped buying Anchor after she saw Marlon Brando with a handful.
£1.10 for a 2 foot french loaf in M&S, fresh a good price imo.
marks and sparks bp garage stores 6 free range eggs a £1! these aint just any eggs top value !

The bargain at Nisi is the booze, available 24 hours a day. Bought a pack of cigs there other day, £16 or thereabouts.

tesco chairman on tv on sunday morning basically admitting some of his suppliers are simply ripping people off for no reason.

saddo, you do know their prices are governed by those charged by the supplier. they refused to sell certain kraft / heinz products as they deemed their price increases were a p!ss take.
Tesco must be one of the dearest local chains out there, I rarely buy more than milk at the one near me, everything looks overpriced.
