Having reached rock bottom through gambling and have been clean now for a couple of months, i can honestly say i have never felt better. Not that i would ever ban gambling or anything like that, it all comes down to personal responsibility. The big difference is my health, feel like a new man, no aches, no pains, no headaches, no stomach cramps, no anxiety. Once you smell the roses everything is great.

Took you at least 15yrs to find a new lease of life pandora.

I'd guess as a gambler under continual duress you disobeyed the Einstein definition of insanity.

It could have been so different if you'd have listened or come out of the box earlier.

Good luck mate   Happy

WD Pandora, it can be very contrite to say "Only gamble what you can afford to lose" but if gambling becomes an addiction that rule could easily go out the window. I have never risked more than I am comfortable with but have seen many, not just at the bookies but in card schools who blow their wages.

Well done the key is to stick with it. Your brain chemistry will change over time too. More and more people throughout the world are moving away from "gambling" on the horses.  Good Luck for the futureHappy

Life is a gamble. Getting in the car, crossing the road, cooking dinner, having a drink. If you drive badly the eventual outcome could be awful. If you cross the road badly the eventual outcome could be awful and if you cook or drink badly the eventual outcome could be awful. Alternatively if you drive, cross the road, cook and drink sensibly the eventual outcome should be fine. It is the same with having a bet. If you bet sensibly the outcome should be fine.
Driving has a financial downside, cooking and drinking have a financial downside and so does betting. Almost everything you do will cost you money, the idea is to make sure it doesn't cost you more than you intended to spend. That is the crux.

When the fun stops - Stop. Might be a bit gimmicky but it's true why pay money for an activity you no longer enjoy. Well done Pandora, hope you maintain the discipline.
