5f better grade faster pace, horse won over a stiff 6f as a 2yo. Watch only race to see what tricks they've got in store today, and that's connections not the horse, who's as peeved as the rest of us.

Whatever ridings tactics are employed I think Joanna Mason was stupid taking the ride. She should steer clear of riding for such a rancid outfit, she's got enough on her plate being Mick's granddaughter. I would agree with that. |

The 2yo win was pretty much a fluke - Kraken Power raced up the favoured rail at Hamilton from the best draw and four of his five rivals raced on slower ground up the centre of the track. The only other stand side runner finished second. Ironically the second, Abduction, is also now with Jim and won races off 77 and 80 at Ayr in September. The third was Bergerac, now a 97 rated sprint handicapper.
The connections of Kraken Power got over excited by that win and ran the horse in a Listed race at Newbury, then a Group 2 at Glorious Goodwood and it's been all downhill ever since. |

Don't see why Mason shouldn't take the ride,she's doing
what she's paid to do.Trying to win a race on the horse, the same as 11 jockeys have since Gormley won on it. |

My first thoughts on seeing KP's price earlier was that if there was anything else in the race I had a strong fancy for, I wouldn't let all the recent shenanigans put me off opposing KP.
But, the irony is that you probably couldn't find a weaker set of opponents for KP today : ANOTHER ANGEL has lost its last 32 starts and off a rating of 53 looks outclassed. RUGGLES hasn't shown a great deal in three handicaps to date including, at a lower level LTO over CD following a breathing op'; also doubts over his readiness not having raced for 86 days. INDIAN SOUNDS at first glance looked a possible, having run ok over CD LTO off a break, but on closer inspection doubts crept in. He looks a better horse on turf than all-weather, and has in fact been beaten over CD in this grade off lower marks already. Frankly, he looked regressive on the turf last season, losing on multiple occasions with conditions to suit with little excuse. IDOAPOLOGISE could struggle dropped back to 5f given his style of racing, and the fact he seems to need every yard over 6f. Similar comments apply to WEE FAT MAC back in trip. He also looks a little high in the weights and would probably be better suited to racing at a lower level. That leaves MODULAR MAGIC. Dropped in class when running 4th to MURBIH LTO, that run looks ok, but it's disconcerting he's already lost twice off marks of 68 over CD (in late 2020), so he doesn't exactly looked thrown in off 72. As such, given the doubts about all his rivals, it looks as if the race could tee up perfectly for KP. You couldn't make it up !  |

Track is bit like a flapper anywhere else where we get such inconsistent results you simply cannot back anything with any confidence that last dog was 4/11 Calcutta 4/7 first one 11/10 all not sighted anybody got the stats for odds on losers?

My money will be on it pulling double and finding nowt - I do hope they haven't been exercising it too much or gave it a huge amount to drink in the last 1/2hr.........
