gambling may or may not be boring. i dont think it is. but you can become bored by it.
for most its a fantasy of winning big without doing much. and thats a tantalising prospect when you dont have much. it certainly was for me when i was labouring on building sites but aside from a spectacular accident of fate almost everyone will lose. but nobody who gambles in a casino thinks this way. it really is fun for them and they know it. so its not boring and mildly exciting what i find odd is the female love of numbers. bingo is amazingly popular. and 90% women. they luvanumber. but its rubbish. beats me. no fun in that. at least with racing you can go through the machinations and arrive at a selection and then when it wins your work is validated. i suspect this could be part of the appeal |

Bingo is popular because - like the lottery - it gives the impression to losing punters that they were very close to winning, encouraging them to try again.
At the point were the lottery machine has drawn 5 of your 6 numbers with one ball to come - you are still barely a 2% chance of winning the jackpot. When a bingo player is hovering over their card with every number crossed off bar one, there will be dozens of numbers still to call and equally a tiny chance of winning with the next number. But both will feel that they *almost* won and play again. |

gambling on the horses is the greatest game in the world especially at big prices ,ok you will have plenty of losers at the odds but a 20/1 plus winner is like a double hit of smack and cocaine ,you could have done a fair bit of dough and feeling down but hit a big priced winner and bosh you are reaching for the stars the confidence kicks back in and the losers are wiped out in one hit . cant whack it !
