Didn't back it but that was awful. Never put in the race. Why don't commentators question these things. Couldn't be more obvious. There was no bother to run into. He wasn't unlucky.

He is in behind the 1st and 2nd when he is 2f out and instead of following them switches behind the wall of horses to his right.

He must have something on the stewards at Newcastle coz he is a regular 'puller' up there.

I missed the race live but I have just watched the replay.

That ride is absolutely disgusting, no other word for it.
He surely has to be held to account for that.

close up, not clear run over 1f out and shuffled back to last, pushed along and ran on towards finish

now wheres that switch!!!
When: 04 Jan 23 16:00
Sparrow...race comments would be.. Close up going easily, jockey refused to give the horse an inch of rein to enable it to quicken up when required, then deliberately chose to switch in behind fading horses to ensure no clear run possible. Ran on when in the clear but was careful to still have a hold of its head to not reach the frame, whilst looking at where the others were..

if he wasn't, someone would have to question the Newcastle stewards ability to perform their job.

One reason why punters walk away from the sport…..but the media continue to ignore

Everyone is in agreement regarding the race so it’s not sour grapes from one punter….take heed media guy’s we know you look at the betfair forum….

Not a massive jockey basher usually, but that is as bad as I have seen in many a year.

No wonder the game is on a downward spiral ?

Still nothing in the Stewards Reports yet.

It is fair to assume the handicapper will miss this 'unlucky' run too , so 0-50s beckon, then full ker-ching, unless of course it's just impossible to ignore the pink button for the Goldie crew.

you can't not haul him in.  if you don't, anyone that gets hauled in going forward can just say yeah, it looked bad but it was nowhere near as bad as Mulrennan at Newcastle.  and he got nothing.

Race 8 - 3:20pm
THE HUGE DAILY BOOSTS ONLY AT BETUK HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (DIV II)

Jason Hart the rider of FINAL FRONTIER (IRE), drawn 2, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slightly slow to start. Hart’s explanation that the gelding dropped its head as he went to remove the blind, was noted.

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of KRAKEN POWER (IRE), ridden by Paul Mulrennan and trained by Jim Goldie, which raced just behind the leaders but appearing to lose its position and dropping back to last place before running on to finish a staying on fifth, under a hands and heels ride. The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race. The rider stated having travelled well through the race he found himself stuck behind horses with no room to manoeuvre, having to take off heels for a sustained period, losing both momentum and ground and finding himself further back than he wanted. The trainer confirmed the instructions that he wanted Mulrennan to get a lead, to get the gelding settled and to give the gelding cover due to the strong head winds present today. Their explanations were noted.

Not one to criticise either but it was appealing as

Very hard thing to prove though as the explanation above shows.

When: 04 Jan 23 16:24
he was travelling easily over 2 out..the couple in front did close the door slightly but he could easily have switched left aroung those 2..instead he just lets it coast back to last then for a fur just nudges it along until its obvious he can no longer plaice..
its easy to go overboard spesh if you backed it..i didnt and that was blatant.

When: 04 Jan 23 16:24
does make you wonder if it has to be worse than that to get done .... is worse than that even possible ??
