its either murder if deliberate or causing death by dangerous driving.

Rico is right Hibby,just came down to the CPS basically doing the chap a favour imo.Had one of the scrotes died it would most likely have been a charge of murder and down to a jury to decide whether intent to cause bodily harm,no need to prove intent to kill.hth

Just for your info Hibby,in Scotland when an RTC occurs involving a fatality it is not unusual for the surviving driver to be charged with murder unless or until the circumstances prove otherwise!!

I watched it last night after all the furore on here. The lad was very unlucky to be sent down. Unfortunately common sense doesn’t prevail where the law is concerned. I certainly wouldn’t have been convicting him if I was on the jury.
One thing that stands out though is his interview. It should be mandatory imo that nobody should be interviewed without a lawyer present. His openness and honesty may have done him no favours. The ‘victims’ knew exactly what so say. Feck all.

Went downstairs boiled the kettle with help from the street light
Opened the patio doors and called his mobile to invite them (three I think)
Bring a good dose of calamine lotion
