Caught the last 4f of the race. He could easily have switched the horse to the nearside 2f out but insisted on staying behind runners. 'He's a tricky ride' says Mr Magoo in commentary

Muppletoft said he could possibly have won if he could have got out.

"tricky ole ride"?? - he ddin't look very tricky - when he was eventually asked, he seemed to respond pretty well - but I think you're supposed to start trying earlier - certinly many of the other jockeys seemed to believe so ;)

Very similar ride and outcome as in its previous run when Kevin Stott was on. If you're going to back hold-up horses in low grade handicaps at those sort of odds you should be aware of the risks.

Theres "hold up horses" and then theres "dont do feck all holding a double handfull while watching other horses go for home" rides..

i know this game is all about opinions..but some people are abso clueless...its how the horse is ridden every time it runs..its been despo 3 of its last 4 runs ridden exactly the same way ...it needs held up for a late burst..he got blocked behind 2 horses 1.5 out for 100yds..nothing he could do. do you think it was deliberately stopped to get its mark dropped?

He won by 1.5 lengths in exactly the same conditions three races ago when the same jockey got after him MUCH earlier in the race and the horse responded just fine. It's not as if he was pulling himself up when he got to the front too, so the "tricky ride" piece is BS. You really think the ONLY reason people pull 5/4 shots is to get their mark down? You're right.... "some people ARE clueless". :D

at the 3f pole he is cruising. he can't go left or right to avoid getting blocked so he stays where he is hoping a gap appears .
at the 2 furlong pole he still has no where to go as it looks like no.10 run teddy run has just closed the gap to his right which prevented him from getting out to the right , to the left he has 3-4 horses so he can't go that way , so he stays where he is hoping for a gap to appear to the right . about 1 1/2 furlongs out the winner not only gets first run but picks up very well . when the gap does appear just before the 1f pole it is too late . it wouldn't surprise me if jason hart thought he would win as soon as a gap appeared as he had all the horses in front and to the left covered but he got caught out by the one near side i wasn't watching it at the time, but i would put it down as unlucky , no run. i would not be making a note of it as a non trier . the point from 1:13 - 1:24 on the ATR replay is where the race was lost as no.10 picks up to close the door with others from the far side ( no.3 and no.8 ) also drifting over which closes the potential gap |

Gaps didn't appear 'till it was too late.
He was there to win, just couldn't get out. |
