Absolutely flawless at Galway. The best around by a mile.

Jerry’s slow deliberate tone on industry days, as if he is on methadone, gets replaced by over excited fast delivery on the big days.
|
|
By:
IMHO the best comm by far these days

Did someone else grab the mic there at Listowel?
|
|
By:
Very much agree elisjohn.
|
|
By:
he's not for me but happy for others to share a different opinion
|
|
By:
Very well put. I forgive him all his foibles because he simply relates what’s happening without aberration, stutter or mistaking of colours etc, fluently. For me it is a great skill. However, I still have visions of him popping the buttons off of his waistcoat as he just about bursts with excitement at race end. I accept he irritates some but I always feel he matches enthusiasm, passion and professionalism all at once.
Best wishes all. |

As Tina Turner would say , simply the best better than all the rest

---------------------- Think it was Brian Arnold you heard at the start who works at the course as an announcer who might have stepped in for the first couple of furlongs. |

Jerry, the "English" runner is from Wales.
|

The Spinmaster seems obsessed with Jerry Hannon.
Light N Strike moved from Emma Lavelle in England to Mickey Bowen in Wales only 9 days ago. Still it must have made his day to point it out. |
|
By:
Brilliant! |

The Bowens train in Wales. Keep up.

Spinno, you are in grave danger of being thought of as a pedant

|

. And a pedant who doesn’t cotton on. |
|
By:
Jerry can make as many mistakes as he likes tbh but still has more than enough plusses to make him the best.

"And another big race win for Willie Mullins" shouted in a demented manner as if he was being waterboarded as he struggled to breathe ....
|
|
By:
Does repeatedly making the same point make you correct,Spinno?
You are very much in the minority with your views |

Learn the colours, horse’s I.d. details, then switch on M U T E. Job done.

He’s ok, until he starts hyperventilating randomly
At the end of his chosen races, forcing the horses Names out, after shutting down his larynx. Think He’s displaying over confidence??? |
|
By:
I’ve never seen a picture of him, how old is he etc
anyone got a pic of Jerry? |
|
By:
He's the best in the business

Thank you manoleeds, nothing like I expected, hé sounds
Like a 55/60 yo man ?? |
|
By:
He was good craic on Twitter until he was hounded off it by the boo boys.
|
|
By:
Clearly the best for me, the gasping, excitement rather than being an annoyance actually adds to the experience, raw, gritty, who can listen to the Roaring Bull commentary and not absolutely love it.

He's different class to those colours obsessed pricks like Bartlett and Ennis.

He is different class compared the colours obsessed morons like Bartlett and Ennis.

Duffy. 12.26. With you all the way. “Natural enthusiasm - we’re nothing without it”.

By:
Thw John Durkan Chase, a race that could be the shop window for the sport. Ruined by Hannon again, having a waterboarded panic attack at the end, Gaeeeeeeeeeeeelic Warrior.....
|
|
By:
Why keep labouring your opinion,Spinmaster?
|
|
By:
Enhanced and beautified by Hannon! The passion the man has for the game is fabulous.

---------------- Agreed 100%,raw passion and excitement....the man lives this game. |

I wish he would stop shouting. O'Sullivan wasn't a great commentator in respect to accuracy, but his voice was very good, easy to listen too.
I wish Jerry would take a leaf out of his book |
|
By:
Hannon sounded like he was being water boarded at the end of the opener with his stragulated gasping commentary. A juvenile race. God help us how he will ruin the bigger races on the card.

What a breath of fresh air to hear Gary O Brien commentate at Cork. No deliberate droning, no clichés and no gasping at the end of a finish. Give him more.
