Just received an email from the Racing Post.......£199 annual essential subscription to be raised to £249 from the 17th October 2022.That is 25% higher.Only two years since the last increase,they state, "but like most businesses we have in recent months seen unprecedented increases in our costs",the rise is described as a "small increase".

My ultimate subscription expires in December they have no chance of me paying an extra 25%,are you going to pay?
My subscription expires in May 2023.I am not happy at all.They are,essentially,a digital business,do they have overheads as big as other businesses...hmmmm?

I gave up with it when it went to £199. Totally fed up with half the news items being behind the Ultimate subscription, even news items I could find on free sites. They should just consolidate to onw subscription and be done with it. Incidently I have hardly missed it at all.
I do miss the broadsheet Sporting Life from my commute in the 90s.
1998…jumped into bed with the post….large broadsheet gone for good….dreadful stuff….never touched the post for years..probably never will again…

I will be cancelling at end of the 3 month offer in early december. How long before raceform interactive is the next service to be increased i wonder. Alot of russian gas is used in its production!

Just cancelled my monthly out of principle, 40 quid a month haway.
How is the AC issue going swad - thought you had problems with it, not surprised you would cancel the RP in that case?
The most annoying thing is the wording in the email.
I shall ask for similar small rise! 25% is a ridiculous rise and I shall be cancelling.

I do wonder about the RP. Their only answer to anything is putting prices up whether it being print or online. They must have a healthy database. Gawd knows for how long.
Mines gone from 34.95 to 39.95 a month …about 14% rise,,,not happy but earns its money and how much is the broadsheet in the shop about 3-4 quid so will stick with it

The price of an Ultimate subscription has not changed in three years, but like most businesses we have in recent months seen unprecedented increases in our costs. While we have endeavoured to avoid passing these on to our customers, a small increase in the price of our digital subscription packages has unfortunately become necessary.
As such, all annual payments due on or after 17 October 2022 will be processed at the new price of £399.
If you are due to renew before this date you will be charged the current price of £349 and subsequent renewals will be charged at the new price of £399.
Your next payment is due on -Feb-23.
This was a difficult decision to make, as we know there is never a good time to increase prices. However, we believe Members' Club Ultimate continues to represent excellent value and are working hard to further enhance the package offered to our subscribers.
I'd like to thank you again for your support, and as always we’d love to hear your feedback on Members’ Club or anything else to do with the Racing Post.

the rp must be the worst value offering in any arena. as a newspaper its absolute garbage. ive noticed fewer and fewer newsagents stock it, unsurprisingly.

Anyone paying for Ultimate on a monthly basis should upgrade to the annual rate for £349 before October 17th.
Sorry but you would have to be simple to subscribe….
Alternative is free do your own thing…you can Google anything you want to know regarding….
I would rather have the paper than googling…it’s a trade paper ,much more convenient

Stop buying the paper two years ago when the price became ridiculous.
One would think that by charging such ludicrous fee..they could at least hire 1 tipstar that showed +profit..
Attheraces website offers tons of great form, and all for free. I stopped using the Racing Post a couple of years back. Their printed product is also extortionately overpriced and as a product, it has hardly improved at all in the past few years.
Come back The Sporting Life, please.
Retail the printed product for £2 midweek and £3 weekends. I am convinced readers would flock to them.
The RP is a prime example of a product without meaningful competition.

What if us forumites formed our own as competition for the useless, greedy bastards? We could call it either RACING TOAST. Or RACING BOAST.
Just to add my "two-penworth" for perhaps a bit of balance.
I renewed my Ultimate Subscription in September at £349 (I pay annually). The new rate will be £399 which is an increase of 14.3%. This will be the first rise for me for four years. At the current price, the cost to me is £0.95 per day, I no longer buy the paper version for some of the reasons on here, but mainly because I can simply print a hard copy of the paper here at home. I am aware that much of the form information is available elsewhere but the key differentiating factor (USP) is the ease with which I can look at pedigree, breeding information and other stats. I am disappointed with the increase but will it change my expensive habit. No!

Just done the ultimate for £17.50 for 3 months half price
To be seen with a copy of the Racing Post is akin to having a girlie mag under one's arm. The Racing Post is a bookies' mouthpiece infested with lazy journalism and gravy trainers.
