Mulrennan is well known for that sort of thing or have you just discovered that? The point is I don't have to jump on every thread about a jockey as you do. Forgotten more about this game than you will ever know boy.

1. 95% of races are won by the best horse on the day regardless of jockey. 2. the other 5% are won because of rider tactics and ability. That does not mean strength. 3. Most jockeys are riding to orders which may not necessarily be what they would do given a free hand. The real skill that makes a difference is timing and balance in a finish. Murphy and Buick are among the best at timing their finish to win by a neck without having to give the horse a hard ride. Saffie has it to in my opinion. If you are referring to Luna Celeste, I had put in in the tipping comp but was doing something else and only monitored the odds in running. When it went out to double figures I assumed it was well beaten but then in a few seconds it was odds on again and then declared the winner. I still have not watched the race.

So many folk with throwaway lines about jockeys being "poor", "average" etc, when imo, the number of very good jockeys today compared to yesteryear is huge.
And , of course we have access to every single race ride today......legend sometimes comes with lack of everyday footage.
