I cant think of one Jockey riding better.

Kingscote, but he'd be too common for the Gosdens; Doyle will not last long either.
By:
Frankie aint gone yet but I'd like to see
Hollie Doyle given a chance with a powerful stable. |
By:
He be gone alright !!
By:
De La Sayette certainly a young man going places.
By:
De La Sayette too inexperienced and had a history with the BHA; he's time on his side. Also, a safer pair of hands a must when handling £multi-million racehorses; Cheveley Park and Andrew Webber unlikely to agree without probation prior.
Hollie Doyle possibly, Marquand probable. The latter, if offered, might baulk. By the way wife and husband in competition in the 3pm Prix de Diane tomorrow; 1st and 2nd fav respectively. |
By:
hardly a hot seat, trainer is regressing year on year. Maybe a journeyman will fancy going there
By:
how is he regressing?
By:
“I am proud and Thady is extremely proud because it’s the youth team teaming up again. It’s quite obvious that I’ll be surplus to requirements quite soon with the youthful Thady and Hollie!”
..perhaps this is the answer to your question..? |
By:
James Doyle, although has a good job with godolphin has to play 2nd fiddle to Buick and would surely would like to be No 1 somewhere.
Also what price Murphy, Qatar has horses with Gosden so wouldnt really be completely jumping ship. |
By:
When Big John's gone the combination of Turdy,Murphy and de la Sayette running the show would have him burling in his box!

Thady to get control

John Gosden on the French Oaks win:-
She's very talented," he said. "Imad asked me a few years ago about having a jockey, and when he showed me the list I said, 'Hollie Doyle'. "I said horses run for her. She's very meticulous, a fabulous rider and a very serious person with a great sense of humour. "She's got a bundle of talent and Imad has been rewarded. This win should get on the front pages." https://www.racingpost.com/news/race-reports/hollie-doyle-wins-first-classic-on-french-oaks-heroine-nashwa/563558 |

Was he not all over Josephine Gordon for a short time?....Asking for a friend.

Don't remember Gosden giving Josephine any rides you can tell your friend.

Rode a fav,Gymnaste, @ R.Ascot few years back

Must be Rab surely.
By:
Hollie as a jockey I can wholly accept. Thady as my trainer? Maybe not given the plentiful supply of trainers to choose from.
I hope Hollie gets her chance to be stable jock for a large powerful stable soon. A stable jock needs to be good at debrief too. |
By:
Sparrow my friend recons Josephine rode at least one Winner for Gosden and had a few rides for him.
By:
Thats hardly all over her then, acey. I was following her from a 7lb claimer with Stan Moore right up to the season when she had over 100 winners and it couldn't have been more than a few rides for Gosden.
By:
Shame about JoGo who was going places until she wasn't. Likewise Sammy Jo Bell.
By:
Gosden snr added playfully: "I'm very proud, as Thady is, because it's the youth team that are obviously taking over here. It's quite obvious I'll be surplus to requirements quite soon, and it'll be the youth with Hollie and Thady". Racing Post.

No mounts from Gosden at Newmarket on Saturday rides shared between Hollie and Rab.

It’s happening.
James Doyle the early front runner for the job gets the G3 mount. And to add insult to severe traumatic injury. RAB gets the call up in the listed ?? That’s the final bullet then shirley |
By:
Yes it's the end for Frankie.

I feel it's Frankie's arrogance in recent times of just hand-picking the big days and races and then lacking sharpness, which will cost him the job.

The moral of the story..........Don't bite the hand that's been feeding you (the horses).

Dettori did not have a good Ascot - a very rare occurrence. However, I'm sure AOB will give Dettori a few rides at prestigious meetings post this fallout; Dettori could even be in opposition against vindictive Gosden and beat trial jockeys.
This fallout between jockey and trainer is pretty common. It's only a sport. I'm sure big owners and stables will still use Dettori on big races esp the French. |
By:
Not Rab surley......a horse that only just stays the 10 furlong trip and he rushes it up to force the pace.....incredible really imo.

When you prepare such a special, one-in-a-million horse like Stradivarius to peak for the most important & prestigious G1 of his season, the Ascot GC, for 2 years running only to see Frankie completely blow it, Gosden understandably annoyed & expressed his disappointment. He did his job, Frankie didn't do his. You can say Dettori was unlucky on the filly in the Epsom Oaks but he has had a poor season by his high standards. How many winners has he actually ridden? It's a shame cos he's been great for the sport but the poor tactical, or 'unlucky' rides in big races are mounting up. Pyledriver another one in Dubai off the top of my head. Saga he would have won on last week if he was riding with more clarity and confidence. Pretty poor on Sunray Major at Haydock too. Dettori seemed to spend most of the GC looking around and worrying about what others were doing rather than staying calm and focused on riding Strad.
Benoit is an excellent young jockey and as long as he doesn't get sidetracked I think he is destined for the top. |
