Clearly goes to pull the hood off just before stalls opened

Frankie was wrong. He tried to pull the hood off without using the handle provided. He was pulling the hood towards him and not up and over the horse's head, the proper way. He really should know better. I see lots of jockey's loosen the hood to ensure a clean removal.

... it's time to redeem yourself Lanfranco !!!!
By:
TBH as others said, more like time for a rule change - starter shouldn't be pressing go until the hoods are off.
By:
Surely they keep the blind on until the last minute for a reason and if the starter made sure they were all off before starting the race, some horses might be climbing up the stalls. They either have to carry on with what we have or ban blinds and exclude a few horses from racing.
By:
I say ban the blinds.
By:
I have seen horses galloping loose with blinds on, crashing through rails and all sorts...Ban the blinds !!
By:
Agree with acey as in America I think.
By:
It was pilot error.
You have to laugh. None of us ever thought it was the horse's fault and we knew the handlers weren;t to blame. What a scintillatingly brilliant summing up of the situation. Many thanks. |

Pathetic attempts to remove the hood, jockey error.

Frankie gonna for a walk on STRAD

Dettori going on a compulsory hood removal course...
By:
Oh dear what a mess he made of that
By:
Oh dear me, shocking
By:
Should have left a hood on Dettori..
By:
Shocker again in the same race
By:
WAC. Absolutely hideous ride.
By:
another howler.

By:
That's how not to ride......the last couple of weeks he's been a disaster
By:
Not having the best of weeks
By:
Switched the horse out wide like a sprinter and the poor horse ended going towards the middle of the course
as the bunch headed down towards the rails. Terrible, terrible week for him |
By:
Another nightmare they should have run a pacemaker but still a poor ride again
By:
Gosden will not be amused...
By:
Frankie will be as gutted as everone he's managed to get boxed in again!
By:
you could see it coming from a long way out - in fact if we're honest even before the race
By:
Oh dear, he learned nothing from last year and so the same thing happened. I was gutted to see Mojo Star just beaten again though. very good horse but keeps getting placed. Derby, Leger and now Gold Cup.
By:
Time he retired , getting rides on his history , Frankie is a below average jockey nowadays .
By:
A pipe and slippers awaits...
By:
I'd love to see Gosden's face right now.
By:
Another kick in the b@lls for Frankie...Ouch !!
By:
If Steve Cauthen was riding that he would have won by a couple of lengths surely he won’t get the queens horse beat later
By:
Saw less daylight than a coalminer and then comes wider than the Grand Canyon...
By:
was going to put up a fred saying "boxed in" after they'd raced a furlong

If you see a little fella with a false beard and sunshades swiftly leaving the course it will be Frankie........................'howa you know issa me?'
By:
If he manages to get Reach For The Moon beat >>>>>>>>>
By:
Mick Fitz just said...."i do hope we will see him again on a racecourse'...................was he talking about Stradivarius or Dettori?
By:
Trying to cover his a$$. Give someone else the ride at Goodwood, give the horse a chance.
By:
