Strangely jockeys quite often say their horse lost it at start but I cant remember the stewards ever chucking one out because of interference at start.

Permission was given for MIMIKYU to wear a red hood to post and for QUEENS BALLET to be led to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final furlong when the winner, MIMIKYU ridden by Robert Havlin, interfered with TIME LOCK, placed second, ridden by William Buick. The Stewards considered that the interference was minimal and had not improved the placing of MIMIKYU as she always appeared to be holding TIME LOCK and the ground and momentum lost by TIMELOCK was less than the official distance of a neck at the line. Havlin was cautioned for careless riding as although the filly hung quickly left initially, he continued to use his whip in his right hand when the filly was always tending to shift left.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference in the final furlong involving the winner, ELSALS ridden by William Buick, QUEEN AMINATU, placed third, ridden by Cieren Fallon, ARISTOBULUS, placed fourth, ridden by Daniel Muscutt and TOTHENINES (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Daniel Tudhope. In the first incident approaching the 1/2 furlong marker, it was established that ELSALS had moved quickly right-handed away from the whip before being corrected by Buick, and into the path of QUEEN AMINATU which was slightly inconvenienced when momentarily carried off its intended line, which in turn resulted in TOTHENINES (IRE) being steadied by its rider when left short of racing room. The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved ELSALS’s placing as the incident occurred over half a furlong out and the interference suffered by QUEEN AMINATU was of a minor nature, before being beaten by a Head and a nose, whilst in relation to TOTHENINES, that gelding was comfortably being held and weakening prior to suffering any interference. This interference was found to be accidental as Buick had taken reasonable steps in order to promptly correct his mount. In the second incident inside the final half furlong, it was found that there was interference between ARISTOBULUS which edged left-handed and QUEEN AMINATU, which lugged slightly right-handed resulting in the pair bumping on two occasions and becoming unbalanced. The Stewards considered that both horses contributed to the incident occurring by not keeping straight and it had not improved QUEEN AMINATU’s placing in relation to ARISTOBULUS, which it beat by a head margin. This incident was also found to be accidental as both runners shifted ground slightly, causing them to meet and make contact.
