After the Dante I thought Desert Crown was too short, but he is even shorter now. At the time I thought an outsider each way might be a better idea, but nothing jumps out. So it looks very much like Desert Crown v Stone Age. Not sure that Desert Crown is the right favourite. Has he really got the better form, and then you have Kingscote v the new version of Moore. Not sure whether I will have a bet, but 7/2 has more appeal than 15/8.

I know Desert Crown beat it fair and square but he stayed on well enough and beat the rest easily, over an extra 2 furlongs, who knows and at the prices, he might run into a place if not win !

Entrepeneur went off around evens for the stoute yard in the derby but clearly didnt stay , wont be the case with Desert Crown who has the right profile to take this.
I think the market has got it right with him and Stone Age. I just hope he can hold a good position to mount a challenge 2f out most likely against Stone Age). And, whichever stays better will win.

Motivator and Authorised both did the Dante/ Derby double as well.
workforce finished second in it and won the derby and there may be others but i cant remember

Thanks penzance. In my book the Dante is not so good a 'trial' as it used to be. I've dug out an EW bet because although the FAV has done nothing wrong Epsom is a different cup of tea and is inexperienced but it could improve again.

Foxy Top ......u say 15 / 8 is laughable , but in the next breath you say you wouldnt lay it . If i could find a !5 / 8 shot that i thought for example should be 4 / 1 i would be laying it for the maximum i could . Yes ofcourse it still may win but you have massive value before you even start .
Another thing I forgot to mention. If there are eighteen that go to post you have to think that a few at least fancy their chances.

My main concern is traffic issue too. I think the potential and improvement are not in doubt, and given a smooth passage he's the one to beat unless the AOB battalion engineers a road block.

Stan also rode for Jimmy fox, think he was top trainer at Stratford at one time. Mate of mine never rated Stan ( Said he couldn't sit in the bath ) Hope he has a great day out
if you look at Nations Pride bare form it is nothing to get excited about, however if you watch the way he finishes his races off over 9 & 10 furlongs it appears he will improve for the extra 2f, only concern would be the undulations however at around 7/1 its appears fair value in a race with so many unknowns.

A big drifter to 4.2 here. They (Coolmore boys possibly) are backing Stone Age who'd contracted to 4.7 from 5.3 here.
acey deucy, cheerio, a shame you won't be able to show your face on here again.
A great result for horseracing. A wonderful trainer, a true gentleman and so fitting winning another Derby named after Lester Piggott another great.
Kingscote at his best; wait, wait and wait then whoosh. We've seen this so many time when he was riding for Dascombe.
