Is it just me guys but every time they stop the hare the well backed fav. is in the rear?

When you read of some of the tricks that the 'Gangs' got up to in the old days - you have to smile.
'Buying off' the Hare Driver would be a straightforward one, If the 'Gangs' well-backed Dog was not looking like winning -
