Hard to know where it'll all end , Ukraine now Poland next year , Finland? Germany ? UK?
Putin and the Russians have been shaping up for a number of years , lots of Russian cash in London  , Salisbury Poisonings , Chelsea Russia Football club ?

It doesn't help that Biden is totally clueless. As for any threat to the UK that's a non-starter while we have a nice Trident submarine on patrol which could turn Russia into an ashtray.

Hope your right , could Russia have a dozen of them and we'd be in the ashtray. Dangerous times ahead with Putin in charge.

Our 4 Trident submarines could inflict damage on Russia, but if Putin retaliated with nuclear ICBM's (they 760, with well over 3500 nuclear warheads) then GB is toast.

It wouldn’t surprise me if China took Taiwan very soon now.
That little meeting between Xi and Poots at the Winter Olympics no doubt fleshed it all out.
The SWIFT payment system is under heavy pressure, it’s believe China have a digital Yuan ready to go, or close to ready and they have been whittling away markets in all continents for years.
The Dollar only grows weaker, and the Russian grain, gas and oil may just divert onto Yuan, do people think we can just do without those things?
The West is always badgering OPEC to open the taps even more to attempt to reign in price inflation.

America can’t fight 2 wars at once anymore, they might struggle with China alone.
Is the EU/NATO equipped to take on Russia?

When he invaded Crimea we took a tough stance ....and went to his World Cup .....as tough as the invasion of the Sudentenland.
Now Macron takes on the role of Chamberlain .....and looks a complete berk for believing the despot wasn't going to invade.

Our woke pc liberal cowardly leaders have been a piece of cake for this ruthless dictator .......only the Klitschko boys beating the crap out of him can sanve them now me thinkd.

If Taiwan goes, so does America’s leading edge of chip manufacture and all the technological impact.
It doesn’t bare thinking about, but then you feel what you sow when you off shore your most important parts simply because it’s cheap

Is there any public appetite for military engagement with Russia over Ukraine. I doubt there is in America and not so sure about Europe. Me and many others will collectively be wringing our hands I fear and hoping that sanctions bring about some sort of agreement.

well if you consider the us has invaded 25 countries since 1945 and Russia has invaded 3 makes you wonder who are the war mongers.

Putin has a big beef too about East Germany reunifying with West Germany not to mention Poland and Finland so he might not  be long clocking up to 25 countries because if he captures those countries why not take the rest of Europe- He can have his British headquarters in Chelsea, London which his Buddies already own.

It was said not long ago that the Russian/ China alliance has simply switched who leads and who follows
China is the big player in that relationship now
And if anyone thinks China won’t collect as many war trophies as america they need to go interview the surrounding countries

China has in one way or another created a society that thinks about the collective first. It’s been sacrificing under that ideology all the while the West has been turning pinko creating endless genders and farting around with ethereal finance.

You have to laugh at the Bread and Circuses of America.
They apparently are creating a law that will make it an offence to teach a subject that offends a person’s religion.
That place is upto the eyes in evangelicals and creationist loons
How are they going to get anywhere under that remit?

Meanwhile in China the CCP turn up and crush every voice at decent.
Hong Kong has totally gone and that will be a template for the surrounding regions

That 4 is meaningless. Only one patrols at a time. I googled this to be accurate...

How many warheads can a Trident D5 carry?
Each submarine can carry 24 submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) designated Trident D5 and each missile can carry up to eight 100 kiloton nuclear warheads (about 30 times the explosive force as the Hiroshima bomb).

The point being is that any country that launches will end up toast.

Putin is playing a dangerous game. One Russian kills a NATO soldier or vice versa and we could all end up toast.

As Oppenheimer said to a colleague after the first Atomic test ....'we're all son of a b1tches now'.

David Davis, the Conservative former Brexit secretary (and a former SAS reservist), has said that retaliating against Russia with sanctions will not be enough and that, in order to prevent Ukraine being defeated, the UK should “provide air support to the Ukrainian army”.

That would effectively mean the RAF bombing, or threatening to bomb, Russian military positions.

Davis has explained his case on Twitter.         What a nutcase.

I didn't know it had kicked off tbf, I'll put the tv on. The EU must be pretty impotent in all this, given that they decided to rely on the only potential threat to European peace for most of their energy. How naïve.

They could be a bit more vocal dave. They were both neutral in world war 2 along with Sweden and Switzerland. Make no mistake if the Nazis had won the war it would only have been a matter of time before Hitler made them part of their 'empire'.

The west would do well to stay out of this. Otherwise this dispute between these 2 corrupt countries could escalate seriously out of control. I'm sure Joe Biden's war mongering puppet masters have already played up their Vaccine "winnings" by investing in the arms industry.

davis's suggestion is actually the correct move.  The mutual destruction game is played by ratcheting up until the next move is nukes, which can't be done. So a nato no fly zone will save lives and put the question to pootin - do you want to escalate more. The only problem is pootin needs a way to back down, and it's not clear what that is at the moment.
