Well we all have our opinions on Luke but one thing I will say is that he's a thoroughly decent bloke and very amicable with it. I speak as I find and he's ok in my book.

I agree but it doesn;t make him a bad person or an offence to the racing public. Does it? It just makes him a bit eccentric. Rather that than brown-nosed like Chamberlin.

He is exactly what’s wrong with racing, scared of giving a truthful opinion incase he offends them. I’ve heard him mention a few jockeys staying at his house, sounds like a conflict of interests to me.
Just like these trainers that stick with a jockey throughout his career rather than growing some balls and trying to win.

Someone pointed out many years ago that Luke (unconsciously) get many snippets of information from connections, that many wouldn't normally get.
Watched him do just that many times over.

Top man imho. Saw him at ascot one day in the parade ring doing a corporate stint. He had all the people truly fascinated with his knowledge and self deprication. Few good gaggs added in too.

Yes Isleham, I did see him ride a few times at the track. Taberna Lord winning at the Cheltenham Festival was a very good ride, in fact brilliant, in the Coral Golden Hurdle. And Cool Ground winning the Welsh National was also a very good ride. Then there were others that spring to mind like Solidasarock, Rubhahunish and Country Member. But the classy Katabatic trained by Andy Turnell was probably the best he ever sat on.
If one asked him he would probably laugh and say he was a bang average jockey in that self deprecating manner but I don't think top trainers like Turnell, Forster, Gifford etc would have put him up on top horses and trusted him in big races if he was just bang average.
He was a very good (Thanks like for Taberna Lord) and very brave jockey.

There never has and never will be a tv presenter that everybody likes. It's down to human nature. Luke, like Chapman and Fitzgerald in particular, has what one would call a Marmite personality.

The one thing I would say about Harvey is that there's no badness in him or trying to make it about himself. Think he knows himself he's lucky to do the job he does and doesn't think of himself as any better than that.

I only said what I did S.L. as I've chatted with him a couple of times in a pub a few minutes walk to Selhurst Park as he's an ardent Palace supporter as I am as well. He's a good old stick and was very pleasant to chat to and as I did say, I can only speak as I find about folk.

i dont know what to think of chapman at all. sometimes i think he is arrogant but most of the time i think he is a hard working professional who loves his horse racing. very knowledgable as well. so take the positives.
basically he fulfils the old role vacated by legendary big mac
