Rico - if you personally can no longer win by laying losers close home then no one else is going to be able to do so either.

You have made a fortune over the years but you need to move on now - as well you know.

A lack of liquidity begets a lack of liquidity.

The demise of the lowest common denominator (of attempting to bet on a result) could and was predicted.
For those who rely on this the end will come very quickly as the speed of change gets ever quicker, even if you can beat others off the same pictures (where most will just win and lose) the PC will finish you in short order.
I can’t be arsed arguing about why it’s happened, just to say everywhere you look has an element of machine learning. This market has a parity in information never before seen and use of chips in saddle cloths.
The only surprising element for me was how it took so long, and how exchange shops persisted when technology divided up fees without having to pay overheads.

I have a feeling there was some sort of seeding going on

Now removed obvs.

Or bot simply tightened effectively

There are bound to be relationships in the background playing out in an opaque manner
Remember when PC was introduced and the very next day the picture speeds were slowed by a second (a lot has happened over the years I forget exactly what it was it was very fishy though)

Remember they asked on the forum how in runners would feel about if they removed the 1 second bet placement delay.
Everyone to a man said, great idea do it. Hundreds of replies all in favour of it. They only people who never replied ended up being Betfair
and the 1 second bet placement was never removed, obviously

But then play devils advocate they surely have tens if not hundreds of ex employees (ok probably only 10 that actually had half a clue)

Would the sort of thing we are suggesting not av came out in the wash?

Maybe it’s just a generation thing that wasn’t helped by absolutely no advertising.

Nobody my age around my friendship circle is remotely interested in the exchange and therefore no new blood it’s just a slow death.

Things 'coming out in the wash' within the sector with a regulator who has taken payments while fashioning arguments why they should not deal with the issue of people abusing the system?

Its rampant no rule wild west territory where opportunism was allowed to play out until the private sector took complete hold and 'solved' the problem their own way.

Most punters are recreational and most bets lose. Therefore getting an extra point on here(-2% or more in comm) means nothing to the vast majority. And those that are any good will be handing back 20/40/60% of their profits through gritted teeth. The way they have allowed the demise of the once healthy ecosystem would get Attenborough in tears.

yes JD, when i asked them about this , the reply was the the ( big ) market makers ( bot users ) did not want it so they never implemented it . although 99% of the people wanted it removed , i think they said something along the lines of that liquidity would fall if they removed it as bot users would not still provide liquidity

The way they have allowed the demise of the once healthy ecosystem would get Attenborough in tears

how fkin aggresive you have to be to get matched in this sh1thole is beyond ridiculous, 3 times price dropped to my stake and nothing gets taken, you literally have to just drop it 50 ticks ahead to get matched
