That was unlucky. Seemed to be struggling and Tom Marquand did well to nearly snatch it. Beaten on the nod. Cry

course record conditions helped the winner with G1 5f form.
Report bettysboy September 4, 2021 3:43 PM BST
was it a course record howard?
Report themightymac September 4, 2021 4:01 PM BST
Head was coming back down just before the line. Unlucky.
Report impossible123 September 4, 2021 4:11 PM BST
Unlucky? He was under-pressure 2f out. Maybe learn to quicken in a straight line may help. Definitely over-rated. Another year of no outstanding sprinters.
Report themightymac September 4, 2021 4:15 PM BST
Unlucky in the sense that when it`s head comes back down in a second, it wins.

Another year of no outstanding sprinters.

The  ITV  Battash countdown clock has put back in the Cupboard .

If they meet again,I'd back Starman
Report howard September 5, 2021 12:28 PM BST
Think you could be right davy. Certainly a stiff 6. Funnily enough although he likes good or better  ground it was likely too quick. bettysboy  they said course record on one of the tv channels. I see it was 1.70 below standard. Maybe a time expert can confirm.

Not a course record ............ fastest Haydock Sprint race time
Report howard September 5, 2021 2:03 PM BST
Thanks Andrew , I suspected that but it's not what they said.
Report impossible123 September 5, 2021 3:53 PM BST
He was in the wrong place, and behind winner who was also going comfortably; winner quickened in a straight line. One thing for sure Starman is a good horse, superstar star he's not; a mediocre bunch of sprinters not fit to rub shoulders with Soba, Habibti, Dayjur or even Caravaggio and Harry Angel.

If he was mine he’d have only 1 target now…Breeders Cup Mile…all day long Crazy
Report Jumping-cuckoo-monk September 6, 2021 11:34 AM BST
I think the winner was better than the result
He went for home quite early for a sprint.
Held on to a bit longer and EA would rep value in a rematch against the "unlucky" runner-up imo
Report 1st time poster September 6, 2021 12:35 PM BST
