Form and data hover over pop up

i really not enjoying this , at least purple showing the main features by hovering over,

6.30 leop tonight, group3 , 9 runners i could hover down the 9 in less than 5 secs seeing main requirements , now takes 30 secs to click each bloody horse and to see the details, and then only half the horses show up, click again and again to get the full list, and then start with the next horse . seriously this is no good to me,

actually , even sportsbook is better

Big mistake. You can't even get the trainer's name without looking at the RP or Timeform sites. I thought that I must have switched it off somehow so relieved it is not just me.

Can't just be lack of staff-someone had to switch it off.

i like to lay 1st time out horses, it was easy to spot them before , now  need to click every bloody horse, i know im going on about it but ffs

Betfair have useless info like lay all and back all when you hover over those. Also the names of the football teams when you hover.

I might have looked at daq but I have not used it since I got a new Debit Card and gave up trying to register it. I have 2 monitors so can drag the RP card onto the other one.

It's a brave man with a lot of time on his hands that attempts to get it sorted via the chat bot imo

FBS and elisjohn - if you feel very strongly about this (and it seems that you do!) - you will need to send an e-mail direct to somebody in a position of authority.

Trying to get it restored via live-chat is the equivalent of thinking, that the guy driving your taxi to the airport will also be flying the plane.

you would really think companies would try to make using their sites the best possible experience
whereas betfair seem to want to make it the exact opposite for their customers.
one must really put this down to a lack of a credible alternative

I am beginning to wonder, if its meant to force everyone over to Timeform for information. Personally id rather do without Timeform, as i find it pretty useless.

It is obvious to me why they don't go overboard to please us. They make more from Sportsbook and Paddy Power! I suspect that the exchange is there to help them make the fixed odds market. what can you find on Timeform that is not on Racing Post or Sporting Life?

I'd be more inclined to agree with a previous poster that suggested a Graduate Trainee (that doesn't bet and has never used the site) has probably "switched it off" by mistake - or maybe to "free up some space" to introduce the coloured jockey silks for the virtual-e-sports casino slot roulette 3-legged armadillo racing game.

Daq shows the same info on hover-over, so I'll use that and also do some of my business there as a sort of reward/punishment thing. That's how warped my thinking is, but it does feel good.

Gruss hover-over gives you the owner, trainer, jockey plus claim, the age. weight and official rating, the sire, the dam, the dam's sire, the country of breeding, the colour, the sex, the form figures, the headgear, stall number and the forecast price.

Plus, of course, about 10,000% more bells and whistles on the page itself.
So, clearly, it can be done.

No reason to remove it at all.

I didn't think BF had a telephone helplinethese days?  Where are you hearing that?

My volume of bets today are down, it was handy to see who the trainer is, how many days since last run plus it's last time out placing and now wont tell you on American racing who is on Lasix or not. This site is going down hill faster than the horses i back.

Most racecards published feature, form position numbers of last 6 runs. Trainer, jockey, weight, jocky claim, days since last run, head gear, C, D, CD, Even wins in going, and more.
It should not even need a hover over pop up. Its just basic racecard info.

20 runners, 20 clicks. not only time consuming but boring as well.
Even the pop up should not be necessary, to view the basic info that people expect from a racecard.

in which case you're left with having a daq page up which still has the pop ups (as mentioned above) until they decide whether it's coming back

wouldn't surprise me if they've had an issue with the supplier, the data used to be fed in from a 3rd party, which is one of the reasons they rarely change info like jockey changes once it was loaded up, i don't know if that's still the same as not spoken to anyone for ages

Seems like Betfair now have the worst racecard i have ever seen. Horses name, jockeys name and odds.
Unless you view each runner individually. Thereby forgetting which horse drew your original attention.

I'm okay with it being a hover-over I think - if you put it on the main racecard view people with small/laptop screens would complain they saw fewer runners before they scrolled off the bottom of the screen.

There is a lot of white space next to the runner and rider on the racecard though. Even just sticking the form figures there would be something.

I don't think it's a supplier issue, or the hover wouldn't still be functioning on the Gruss version of the betfair card.

There's a lot of whitespace on my chunky widescreen monitors at home and in the office, less so on the laptop (and mine's a reasonably new and decent spec one).

If form etc were shown on the main racecard I think I would want it behind a toggle.

I wouldn't say more important than the graph (that is still an essential), but potentially almost equally important, yes.

At least we've still got the Timeform picks to read, as our bible.

Don't see the graph being much help until they start loading the stalls which is when most significant price changes happen.

Graph can be essential for anyone who trades or hedges.

I now switch to Sportbooks multiples page for a quick race card view.

With everyone clicking away on each race, the web page is getting more hits and therefore generates more revenue for the owner from the 'internet £££'

The lad that does all their IT has gone on holiday with his mum and dad. They are hoping he can fit in during the short window between when he returns and the first week of September (when he has to go back to school).

Perhaps if we all ceased trading on some Monday on Horse racing it might give them a chance to correct the fault with no concerns about the volumes and also help them focus their minds.

like all site errors at betfair it will be fixed in time maybe another two or three weeks at least on historical evidence it will just right itself, no one at betfair cares I am sure because if it was on the priority list it would be done in hours not days /weeks

I think the "fix message" is actually a reference to an outage they had in July 2003.

I'm getting fed up of flitting from here to at the races racecard which don't tell you if horse is on lasix or not. Very poor for a multi-million pound company.

Will be fixed just after the clock is sorted which should be around March 2024.

If their response time regarding my bet query ,  3 weeks and still waiting for a reply back is anything to go by your just wasting your time even contacting them

I spent ages on live chat talking to a bot yesterday and only got through to a person by clicking on the problem gambling button, which I then had to explain away...

They said reset cookies. I've done that and in the process made a mess of other parts of my internet preferences.
Not having hover over feature is a real inconvenience.

Welcome to the forum edipore - interesting that this issue has induced your first post in 15 years and that is quite telling as to the impact this has had on customers.

Unfortunately if live-chat have asked you to delete cookies and try again (which is their equivalent of asking "have you tried switching it off and back on again?") - it just confirms that they don't have the first clue what you are talking about or the first clue what they are talking about!

Well done everyone for getting this back.  Commons sense prevailed

Didn't realize how much I used it until it disappeared.  Then, when I knew it had gone, I still ended up hovering over the horse's name to see things like its age, days since run etc.  It was just a reflex.
Well done Betfair for bringing it back and well done for introducing such a useful feature in the first place.
