The FPTP was pulling away closer to the line.  SDS never had to STOP riding

Tropez Power would of won imo if not drited across. I was amazed at the stewards market. Didnt get involved but backed Tropez Power myselfHappy

hulk, it's not the carried bit, it's the inconsistency between now and previous (up until 2 weeks ago), where's the public announcement that the rules are going to be more strongly enforced?

id be gobsmacked if we hadn't had two similar, but they were closer

The jockey on the first home did nothing to correct the hanging , that simply is why it lost the race. A head distance or less would be a cert to go
, but a neck going away made it trappy. I didn't have a bet, normally any Enquiry I would be involved.

Stewards have followed the rules correctly.

Not having a penny on either of them, I thought it was the right decision.

its not not the rules but as long as jocks dont even think for a nano second of stopping  using the whip, changing whip hands keep throwing them out whatever the distance, they,ll soon learn, steward had best part of a furlong and a half to at least attempt to do something about it

if the stewards have been doing one thing for a couple of years and then do something else (which appears to be happening) then for me the bha should be telling the public and those in the sport that there is a change

i don't really mind which way they jump, i'd just like to know that the old sht hd thing has been kicked into touch and they plan to be tougher

not seen replay but may have been sustained interference without any attempt at correction

sustained interference without any attempt at correction Very good point. Jockey had time to correct and didnt.

I remember Buz Khashi winning by about 10 lengths at Royal Ascot and getting disqualified.

Even when a jockey changes the whip hand and tries to stop the horse hanging, if it still takes the other horses line across the track it is going to get reversed. I was surprised at the prices that were trading.

A cheats charter if you allow a ride like that to stand as a winner for the jock, and being carried 15 yards or so left can definitely cost a horse a neck.

One of Phil Bulls  10 commandments was dont bet on SEs,as they know not what they do.

the point im making is theyve been standing until recently, it's nowrt to do with today but with consistency and how the rules are applied over long periods, right now i don't think they are following the same guidelines as they have been

if the rule is they kick them out that's fine, don't have an issue, but if they've instructed stewards to tighten up they should announce it

I agree with you elise, and the Betfair markets have not been adjusting accordingly. There is a change in interpretation of the rules.

You're innumerate.

Carrying a horse 15 yards left over a distance of a furlong increases the distance travelled by 0.51 of a yard, call it 18 inches. A head at the most.

If any horse carrys another across in a tight finish, will be gone imo.

When: 17 Jul 21 14:08
It wasn't a tight finish though, that's the problem. It was a neck with the winner looking stronger at the winning line

Screaming- you are assuming no loss of momentum from having to change course
By:

The problem will continue to be that decisions can be made on an opinion of whether a horse might have won or not. That is why I prefer the American rules which say that a foul is a foul and that is it without thinking about whether a horse might have won or not.

Where was the loss of momentum? The horse never slowed down.

it also has to be factored in that the second horse loses even more ground by having to run in an unnatural way ( digonally )  , so the distance lost is greater than the maths formula

There u go with inconsistency.  FPTP keeps it at Newmarket

that looked worse to me and the betting refelected the 2nd would get it
