hi do betfair still do the software where i can put in before the race of how much each click will be please

I don't think Betfair ever did this. You might be thinking of https://www.betangel.com/bab/
Depending what @fatboynotslim means by "i can put in before the race of how much each click will be" I think they do.
"Settings -> Betting -> Default Stake" lets you configure three default stakes (I have £2, £8 and £20).
Then if you have "Settings -> Interface -> Quick Settings Panel" turned on, you have three buttons at the bottom of the market view where you can choose which of those three will be entered as the default stake when you click on the red or blue box.

Never knew that -but that doesn't enable you to place a one click bet in running does it?
no - it's still (click on box) -> (click on Place Bets) - assuming you hae 'confirm' switched off
