What has this man been reduced to?

There’s been no bucket scam for over 12 months, he’s desperate.

I dont get why he's DJing on the side? He is already on the gravy train as a commentator

A lot of courses don’t want him commentating.  All he’s got is Yarmouth and Fakenham plus the occasional evening shift at Southwell and Wolverhampton.  The absence of any race goers is hitting him very hard.  His daughter works for that radio station and presumably got him the job as a DJ.

I didn't know that work as a commentator was drying up for him....

I admire his work ethic but he's in his 70's now and should be thinking of retirement!

Okay , he must have lost the gig or maybe he was only standing in , it was about 7 years ago .

Maybe he was at Ponte for another gig.

When I was at the Aintree meeting a few months back Gordon Brooooon was doing the tannoy (constantly annoying the small crowd with COVID rules) so when he's not on RTV doing a Scottish meeting he's doing that...

At Pontefract he would have been “tipping” to a corporate group in a private box. These groups hire him out for the day.  He goes through the race card and usually promotes whatever bookmaker is paying him at the time.  He actively encourages the corporate guests to join his tipping service by handing out a business card.

Of course he’s not had any of this for more than 12 months now.

That makes sense Birkdale , only reason I noticed him was a few punters were walking alongside his car and having a laugh with him on the way out...

I was with such  a gathering a few years ago for the Cheltenham April meeting .  All of a sudden he appeared.  He was non-stop for about an hour with quizzes, raffles, free bets and some awful jokes.  He must have been working for the Tote at the time because he constantly promoted the Tote Swinger bet which I think was quite new at the time.  Every other sentence was…”all the ladies love a swinger, ho, ho, ho”.  It was horrendous.

He used to have a nice sideline in opening new betting shops,don’t think there’s much demand on that score these days.probably still gets a few desperate callers to his tipping line though.
