If he wins a third Gold Cup he'll join Golden Miller, Cottage Rake, Arkle and Best Mate as a triple winner. But he's nowhere near as good as any of those four. He's been wrapped up in cotton wool and been given easy prep races ever since he won in 2019 and he was very lucky to scramble home last year. As a novice, he fell twice and he still makes too many mistakes including running out on one occasion, I think that this year his luck will run out on him. He doesn't deserve a third Gold Cup and for me he's the lay of the festival.
i,m not a fan but biggest thing in his favour is that despite 4,5,6 possibles mullins has always campaigned this horse as though he,s clear number one in the yard,as compared to pumpkin for example who frodden probably started season off as 5th ,6th choice at ditcheat

Tend to agree about laying the horse. He hasn't received due credit for winning 2 gold cups since winning one has bottomed many a horse (think sizing John, Don cossack and coneygree in recent times). My issue is that I don't rate the form of last year's race at all I suspect the winner will come from a horse that didn't take part last year - champ or a plus tard being likely sorts
