Sat down out of sadness .
OH FFS. Look @ the expression on his face !! Looks more like a big game hunter than a top racehorse trainer. |
By:
Workrider, your level of hypocrisy is mind boggling. You slagged me off and said you hoped none of my horses would make money at the sales for suggesting that we should be more concerned with peoples jobs in Newmarket than some alleged incident with a foreign Princess but now you are defending a guy sat on a dead horse giving a victory signal. Of course no one has any vendettas against Shk Mo do they?

Gary Glitter will be in touch with you shortly.
By:
Truehoncho , again you miss the point ,sitting on a dead horse and kidnapping children are slightly different , anyone who believes Elliot would be happy that one of his horses has just died is not in tune with been a trainer .

Get a Grip Workrider ffs, The photo was meant to be a " joke ", he is grinning from ear to ear, as has been mentioned
before it was likely to have been sent with a caption about an overweight workrider or similar, sorry but your " caught off guard and sat down out of sadness " has me worrying about your mental health. |

By:
workrider look at the pic again. He is astride the dead horse smiling and doing a peace sign.
He should have asked for the pic to be deleted straight away as he was always liable to be blackmailed because of it. |
By:
Don't worry about my mental health , I see your user name giving the victory sign would have me more worried about YOUR mental health . Guy who bombed a City till even the rats had nothing to eat giving the 2 fingers and grinning from ear to ear ,now Theres a strange thing...
By:
Yes workrider, you are missing the point, he is SMILING! Ffs who would be smiling when dealing with a dead horse!
By:
Steamship you are correct of course he should have, but when you are caught off guard in that moment its unreal how you react..
By:
Workrider could be right .Elliot sat down out of sadness and by some miracle it worked a treat cause it cheered him up no end by the time the photo was taken.
By:
Note to those who have ever had their photo taken , are you sure ALL of them are prim and proper...Just asking..
By:
... Lucky he did drop bombs or you wouldnt be posting on here now making such farcical comments.
I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It |
By:
While i can agree with WRs point regarding a vendetta, i cannot agree with the rest of his points. Even if he was distraught at losing the horse there is no way in my opinion he would sit on the horse, grief stricken or not.

By:
Cant ever recall having a photo taken with a dead animal never mind sat astride it smiling.
Need to give yer head a wobble Workrider. YOu cant defend the indefencible. |

Elliott is a disgrace and so will any posters be who try in anyway to defend he's terrible actions.Elliott surely will not be allowed to attend any racecourse for a very long time if ever. Not many people mention the horse did said horse have a name ...what about that poor horses owners(if the horse had owners) they must be horrified....Banning Elliott for a long time is the least that can be done...........i put this up on the other elliott thread ..i feel it belongs on here as well. |

Your a good man workrider who loves the sport I know that but you have not covered yourself in glory with that post.
By:
WR, for the sake of the long term health of this sport it is better that GE at least takes a break. The adverse publicity resulting from this incident is immense. You also spent some time defending Sheik Mo. It's not a good look for the sport if it appears to turn a blind eye to kidnapping, which when I last looked was a criminal offence.
By:
JImnast its my opinion and surely I am entitled to it , if I thought he did it deliberately I would be the first to condemn him , in this instance I happen to think he didn't . Every opinion is an expression , those who disagree with me I respect for having the balls to put up their opinion . I would never defend animal brutality and in this case I don't believe it was.
By:
The man is a pikey knacker and it's finally coming back to bite him in the bum, considering how he treats people it's no surprise he has zero respect for the horse under his care either....
Time people took off their blinkers and see the man for what he is, sure look at his lies over Labaik, aye he'd no idea who John Boylan was, give it a rest ffs.... |
By:
Wonky, you have posted some ridiculous drivel in your time but this tops the lot. I would say you were on a wind up but you're not clever enough to do that. You CANNOT defend Elliott in ANY way. Time to wise up wonks. There was never much to like about Elliott.
By:
Cosmic, I fully agree Gordon should step down till this is over , I did NOT condone MO and kidnapping, in fact I stated in my reply to Truehocho who was pro Mo, that it was shocking and he should be ashamed of himself.

this forum shows why racing will always be a minority sport and if it cant stand alone worts on all without itv, racing channels, plunkett and co painting an alice n wonderland portrait of trhe sport it will wither on the vine
to think people onhere still trying to defend the photo people willing to believe the ridiculous excuse which unbelievably is the best they could come up with in 25hrs and posters on here with their head that far up their own arris 500 pposts ago questioning what relevance this has on chelt/national.cant believe people are that dim they cant join the giant dots |

By:
JImnast its my opinion and surely I am entitled to it -- Funny when I gave my opinion on Shk Mo you called me despicable and hoped all my horses would get minimum bid at the sales. Double standards I think.

A very bad day for horse racing other than the rare occasion a jockey is killed I can not remember a worse one

By:
workrider...i was thought and hoping it was a fake.....you are just wrong ....what gordon did is just wrong and should never train or look after a horse ever again

By:
I bet there's a few presenters on tv that will refuse to interview him again.

To start a new topic and state that says everything about the OP and nothing about the subject matter. Pathetic post but probably just what he/she wanted.

Exactly. Wonky has always been an attention seeker. There are enough threads already on this sorry subject. 11 eggs short of the dozen I'm afraid.

Someone on the main GE thread has suggested that the pic was leaked on to social media from within the yard..
I have always wondered about the success of Elliott. He came to prominence with SIlver Birch, a horse that had won a Welsh Grand National with Paul Nic. You could say he got lucky and that PFN did all the hard yards, or GE resurrected the horse.. Hard to prove either way. What clearly made him was the fact that Willie Mullins and Gigginstown had an almighty fallingout over training fees. It was if Michael O'Leary said 'Well up yours Mullins, I am taking all your horses off you and giving them to Elliott. Now lets see who ends up Irish Trainers Champion.' It was an odd choice as Giggy seemed to spread their horses around evenly with Meade, Morris and De Bromhead equal partners, at least. Elliott almost pulled it off the first year (2017) but the fact that Mullins has barely been troubled by Elliott since tells me that Elliotts failure to knock WPM off his perch is a pretty big failing. Put it this way if i was employed by O'Leary in this situation I should think that becoming champion trainer would be a pre requisite of the job description. This failure and now this photo seems to me to point to a lack of savvy, a bit of street smarts, of racing industry intelligence if you want. Maybe GE is just unlucky with his staff, leaking this dreadful photo. But to me on tv he has the always had the look of someone over promoted at work. He's at the top table but doesnt know why. Mullins is very shrewd, perfect politician. Never says anything wrong, tips his trilby and always gracious. PFN has his Sir alex ferguson/alistair campbell thing going on. He puts his point of view out there but is usually courteous. Hendo is a people manager who hasnt got where he was without being able to charm everyone from HMQueen to AP McCoy. Couple of months ago Kevin Blake wrote a gushing piece saying how Elliott was getting ready for life without Gigginstown, as they have stopped investing in young horses. I thought at the time, 'yeah right Kev'. Once O'Leary goes we will probably not be hearing much of the name Gordon Elliott. If GE gets through the other side of this scandal and remains at the top, then I am wrong. Somehow I doubt it tho. |

Yes apart from where Mullins had a falling out over fees.
I would imagine he told Eddie to let me train them or train them yourself |

... Lucky he did drop bombs or you wouldnt be posting on here now making such farcical comments. Not true, bombing innocent German people in their homes made little, if any, difference to the outcome or length of the war. |

Those casting aspersions as to GE's intelligence (or lack of ) are probably not far off the mark as from all accounts he stopped going to school at an early age and notwithstanding the obvious success he has achieved in life his basic instincts are probably those of an unrefined ,uneducated, coarse man. I doubt there's much sentimentality in his life and his stupidity in allowing the photo to be taken ,clearly as a bit of a laugh , is not perhaps surprising. I doubt he will be welcomed at the top table in future.

posy - That ties in with what I was told after the Silver Birch National success - when many were asking, 'who is he?' -
- that somebody had to do his Entries for him - as he could not read or write. |
