When Bruce Millington scribed,
At cricket anyone should be adjudged LBW given OUT regardless of where the ball pitches... He should have been summarily dismissed. |
|
By:
can't stand millington, wrote some really nasty stuff about Peter Alliss when he was alive. One of the finest commentators golf has ever had or will have. Not trendy enough for millington.

My favourite jockey, lovely fella, id Trust in Him !
|
|
By:
One of my favourite NH riders. I was impressed when first seeing him when he came over to Ride For Ferdy Murphy.

As a licenced jockey, Davy punched a horse he was riding before the race. What was the racing press supposed to say?
I note that the likes of Jennings or Forristal who are too close to the Irish gravy train weren't exactly calling him out at the time. I'm not a huge fan of Millington either but I'm sure he wouldn't have lost any sleep over Davy still being in a huff. The racing world are so insular it's untrue. They circle the wagons at every opportunity and take criticism poorly. Quite happy for the peasants and outsiders generally, to provide to the industry through the levy though. |

By:
Exactly , jockeys think they are beyond reproach which is absolutely sickening . Any criticism and they are up in arms , it’s the old chestnut , how many winners have you ridden stuff is usually brought into play .

Nick Luck should have terminated the interview politely there and then. Imagine inviting a guy to sit in the studio alongside you and then allow him to be humiliated in that manner. Bad form by the normally immaculate Nick Luck.

Like i said before it left me feeling a tad uncomfortable, put me right off my Sunday Lunch.

An ignorant man imo.

|
By:
Surely they knew who else was on the show before it started and could have warded this situation off.
Millington should have come back with " Are you still mad about me calling you out for punching a horse" bringing it back up |

Anybody remember Russell beating a Rival Horse across the head with his whip? How he got away with that i dont know.I think he is a brilliant Jockey but bad tempered at times.
|
|
By:
was that the one where he got demoted having smacked the 2nd horse across the head more than once?
|
|
By:
Yeah thats the one elise....Shocking stuff!!
|
|
By:
didn't he kick off and refuse to ride his next horse, then they did him again for his behaviour, or was that another one?
|
|
By:
The same one elise it was at Clonmel.

Bruce on the Postcast: "Don't talk to me about things jockeys say on TV"
![]() |
|
By:
This is the problem. Jockey gets criticised, jockey refuses to talk the the press. Therefore the press refuse to criticise jockeys. McCoy did it Lydia Hislop.
She criticised him and instead of stepping forward and explaining himself the toys came out of the pram. |
|
By:
Russell went on that show knowing Millington was going to be on it. He then set out to embarrass and humiliate him. I am not a fan of Millington but to his credit, he didn't lower himself.
The episode typifies the sort of character Russell is, I have seen this behaviour from him on many occassions. |

"Anybody remember Russell beating a Rival Horse across the head with his whip?"
I remember Lester doing that. |
