). A racing break is actually welcoming and gives many the opportunity of spending quality time with the family and i'm no exception. No doubt my daughter will revert to her childhood and request we play snakes and ladders (or whatever) and i will be forced to watch the Snowman for the umpteenth time, but i don't get many chances in a year for this and it adds to the typical festive spirit.

I was at Sandown (Tingle Creek day) when he made his hurdle appearance and it was no secret on course that those at Seven Barrows thought he could be decent, consequently was well backed during the afternoon although i don't think he ever reached favoustism. Ed Thompson/Brian and i actually discussed it before racing started, but i didn't have a bet in the race (i actually thought Outlaw Peter was the EW value at better odds than the eventual SP).
