Tickets on sale to the general public. Sold out in 15 mins.

NO CONTACT to Annual members at all so far. I very much hope we are all allowed in or Sandown will have a switchboard of very upset members.

Shocking...

Hibore

I was very interested in going, but thought the chances of me getting a ticket were slim to 0.

not sure if sandown have lots of annual members but that will be fun if they dont have a chance to get in

I’ve had to buy a ticket for £30 general admission on Saturday as I don’t know if there is a ballot of the members or not. I’ve 3 badges so that means there will be 1997 people anyway now on track.

Also have a horse running in the Juvenile hurdle so might get one of the 2 owners badges. So 1996 might be the crowd Crazy
Report GAZO November 28, 2020 11:08 AM GMT
but haven't you already paid if annual member ?
Report Hibore November 28, 2020 11:19 AM GMT
Yes, but not guaranteed to get in if there is a ballot. Only way Sandown get out of this mess is EVERY members badge is allowed in.
That is also stupid as I have 3 and my mate has 2.

Cheltenham is doing a ballot as 6000 members and only perhaps 500:places.

every member should get chance before the general public if there are more members than tickets,if not you should never take up membership again

Finally got access to the Annual members tickets by waiting 20 mins on Jockey Club “chat”. Going Friday and Saturday (two tickets)
Luckily they have allocated 500 tickets each it seems for owners and members otherwise there would be carnage.

Anyone else going racing Weds onwards Cool

Got confirmation for Aintree on Sat.

They sent me a QR code. I have no idea what to do with it Crazy

The app isn't very good

Really glad to see racecourses tentatively opening up. Are the bars and restaurants opening? Really asking for my friend who is a Publican and finding it difficult to understand the ‘meals with food’ latest rules.
Report Hibore November 29, 2020 9:28 AM GMT
There is no alcohol unless you are in restaurants having a meal or in certain areas where substantial meals are served. I’m going to the 1875 lounge that normally serves main meals so can hopefully have a couple of drinks.

Have a few drinks in Esher at mates house (outside) Laugh

i think you have to have a meal to have a drink, you cant go in a pub/restaurant which is open and serves meals and just have a drink
Report Hibore November 29, 2020 9:50 AM GMT
Yes, you have to order a proper meal to get any drinks.

my local is thinking of longing out the drinking time for regulars by serving them a tapas or tasting menu.

Hopefully we will see my horse Paros running in the Juvenile hurdle on Saturday. Nicky gave him a final blow on the gallops to see if he’s fit enough.
Exciting times Cool

Good luck Hibore. Great to see your own horse have its first run. And good luck Acey backing a 10yo over 2 miles! He will be 11 in 5 weeks time. He might still retain some ability but I will be looking elsewhere.
