You have to question where he hid / why they didn't find the gun , but this mornings American headlines where crazy Kamala ( another notch on the bedpost Harris) is praising the riots that resulted in the shooting of two police officers this week as "'essential for the evolution of our country"

You have to wonder about species. The first man was an Ethiopean 2.8 million years ago yet they still live in mud huts today and the first American was supposed to be 130,000 years ago yet only a few hundred years go they lived in wigwams. Civilisations were in and around Europe 5000 years ago. It does make you wonder. Are some peoples better at building civilisations and civilised living that others? Just a thought.

Yes, they clearly are. The mistake in Europe was in expecting third world newcomers to morph into Europeans very quickly. We're into 4th generation Pakistanis in Bradford, and it looks more like Karachi every year.

And btw, Ethiopeans don't all live in mud huts.

You're also missing a big piece of the puzzle called colonization
![]() We are where we are and they are behind because we raoed, murdered and stole from these poor places and got a 500 year head start ffs |

Quality of life is better here obviously. I don't see any white men drowning in the med try to get to Africa.

Probably more worried that the Police racially motivated stopped and searched someone (delete if the person was white as that doesn't count and is fine). I wouldn't bring race into it, but these people bring race into everything, so thought it was down to equality. |

Only found out about this in the early hours of this morning and there seems scant detail as to what actually happened and probably going to be the case whilst the internal investigation continues.I am astounded that a suspect has smuggled a loaded weapon into a custody suite,in the MET of all forces.Other than the control room, custody should be safest area of a nick.
Someone has screwed up,that is obvious and tragically cost an officer his life,I have had prisoners try to conceal all sorts of items in all sorts of places on their person including guns but a proper search revealed most before transporting them.A further more thorough search within custody before anything else was standard, including strip search if drugs or weapons were suspected. Something has gone drastically wrong and only speculating that a bloody covid test might have given the scrote the chance to do what he did i.e before a second search. There should also have been at least one officer present on the prisoners side of the counter, were they standing away from the prisoner as covid protocol? It is pertinent because the prisoner managed to get off 5 shots at the sergeant and then one at himself, where was/were the arresting officer (s) when this was happening? It takes a fair few seconds to squeeze off 5 rounds, even from a revolver which I am guessing was probably the type of weapon used especially if the prisoner was cuffed in the front stack position. The how and why he got the weapon into the custody area will be the first thing internal will want to know, all the rest will be obvious as it will be on CCTV with audio. Even assuming there was only one other officer on the prisoners side of the counter, was there any attempt to tackle the scrote after the first or second shot? |
|
By:
I don't know protocol, but if someone firing shots surely the wrong to do is "tackle the scrote" and risk more lives.
|
|
By:
Not really SQ,if the scrote was firing forward he was obviously facing forward and close to the counter,he would also be aiming an upward trajectory unless he was exceptionally tall.Assuming the arresting officer (s) were to the side or behind all would take was a shove in the back to stop the shooting? Obviously just speculating but it is how I once disarmed a suspect who tried to pull a weapon whist being searched against our van.

Apparently Glen he had the gun hidden in the back of his trousers, was handcuffed behind his back, he was outside the main custody area and the Custody Sergeant had come out to take his temperature when the man bent forward, pulled his gun out, turned and let off 5 shots into the Sergeants chest. The two arresting officers jumped on him and forced him to the ground whilst he let off two more shots, one of which shot himself, barbaric scumbag.
|
|
By:
That makes sense stew,I was speculating on how I envisaged the usual procedure. It is weird though how he could have got off so many shots if handcuffed behind not to mention conceal the weapon well enough for it to be missed on the initial search? Also if he fired 7 shots it sounds like a semi auto as a revolver only holds 5 or 6 rounds,if that is the case it must have been cocked and safety off, would not have been a small weapon if the case.

I'm sure the area must have been covered by CCTV,

Good god Toby now claiming all sorts of things. Clearly mentally ill and in need of urgent help.
|

I would assume and hope you are correct Oldgit, not much chance of this being strangely lost because of external circumstances. Two officers now at home worrying like hell,on suspension and rightly so imo without even knowing the full circumstances.
Many questions to be asked and answered and not least why the Custody Sergeant was out of his "Area" and who authorised this, was it SOP because of covid or a local directive? Bottom line is that at least two officers failed, the rest has to be looking up the ladder to who decided the protocol? |
|
By:
sounds like a lapse of safety sadly , assuming cuffs were enough till strip search
and difficult to believe given recent rises in mental issues and terrorism |

Name and shame the real scum, those that make and sell weapons, the Gun manufactures, in the uk and the rest of the world, these are the real criminals, and people prefer not to look, I say Look, Free Julian Assange, arrest Trump for assassination, and more to the point arrest those Manufacturers of Guns etc, they laugh in the background, well we are coming for you know, we walk alone!

Had forgotten about this and only been in UK for a few hours when the trial came on the news.A senior Met officer hailing the two arresting officers as heroes?
Sounded like a spin on a complete and utter c0ck up that cost an officer his life imo,the start and some content of this thread highlights the danger of relying on unsubstantiated claims by the media? No offence to stewarts btw,he just repeated what was known as news broke. |

By:
Shot by a mentally ill Contortionist
|
|
By:
He may or not have been mentally ill casemoney, makes no difference in searching him? The fact the Met have not blamed Covid protocols for the events makes it even more concerning that two officers who failed in their duty are hailed as heroes imo?
|
|
By:
Btw and after the fact tbf,I mentioned him maybe being cuffed in the front stack position, had he been he would never have reached the weapon.
|

Just watching again on the news, diabolocal inaction by the two arresting officers, heroes my arse, idiots at best!
Nobody trained would have missed a gun of that size on even a basic body search, forget the ammo they did find!! ![]() |
