Nice loss there for me I doubt I'm the only casualty there.

'tracked leader, ran freely, led after 3f and soon clear, 30 lengths advantage after 7f and further clear 7f out, kept on strongly in straight, very easily'

time was slow cos they crawled...rest of field crawled slower than winner...been watching racing for a very long time and think thats a new record for how far clear ive ever seen a horse at halfway.
Report ShannonSpray September 23, 2020 9:32 PM BST
I looked at the winner before the race. It had decent form, but hadn't run in ages and there was no money for it, even in the place markets. As such, I didn't back it.

The manner of the win reminded me of Limestone Lad in his pomp. But what were the other jockeys thinking?
Report Virgin September 23, 2020 10:22 PM BST
The Stewards interviewed all riders in this race with the exception of Mr. T. Power Roche, rider of Costalotmore placed first, after it appeared the winner took a big lead early on which the animal maintained to the line. Evidence heard from all the riders concerned, who collectively were of the view that the winner had ran free for much of the race and slipped the field before maintaining this lead to the line. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered. Mr. Stephen McDonogh, Acting Steward, was not present for this enquiry.

The time is one debate but 10/1 out to 20/1 and wins by 40 lengths surely stable wasn't on it Scared

Just like the Derby (apart from the two that kept the winner within a reasonable distance ) when it went clear it appears nobody wants to go after it and perhaps make the same mistake of going off too fast and falling in an hole or tow the others back to the leader.

39 lengths win and on the bridle ....... you can only imagine what owners of the other runners must have felt and perhaps said to their trainer and jockey.
Report ShannonSpray September 24, 2020 9:59 AM BST
Connections may have thought that the horse needed the run after a long lay-off and didn't back it. Nobody told the horse.
Report Pilsudski September 24, 2020 10:12 AM BST
Not for the first time recently,’brilliant’ jockeys like Codd and Mullins have been shown up for what they are — amateurs.
