Given we can't stop drones why not just have the Betfair drone at each track. People won't pay 'rogue' operators for live feed, Betfair can pay the racecourses so they get additional income, in running liquidity will go up so Betfair will benefit and you get a level playing field

probs because BF would then have the invidious prospect of limiting it to just a few, or put about 5 drones up.

BF have a track record of doing nowt while collecting profits and the only body to change that is the regulator.

They should do that, rider. RTV have a drone at most courses already but only show the drone pics on the replays or the odd stretch of
a back straight, never in the home straight funnily enough

ok, its probably not that simple, but the longer drones continue to send private pictures it must only be a matter of time before something like this happens, rtv really need to take the initiative before that happens

Why would bf have to limit the pics to a few?

They manage to show them fine on the lv replays to all without any mishaps and at some tracks they show about a quarter of the race via drone
on lv and again it all works fine

You can understand why RTV wont show the run in. They have a large audience to cater for who propably dont want the drone finish.

The flux will be when the courses open again. When crowds are around and box payers bending the ears of course management.
It will be fun.

Because its not the camera that provides a faster service its the delivery process.
The direct delivery only caters for a small client base

The mid race drone pics are the same speed as LV obv, so behind the drone illicit pics, and RTV dont care enough to spend on another channel

There would still be someone somewhere with faster pics even with official drone work.

actually i think you could be wrong about the audience wanting the traditional pics of the finish with a static camerman, lots of tracks dont offer great angles like exeter and i think viewers will soon be converted, in fact i expect in 5 years most meetings will be covered by 2 or 3 pilots with their drones

I doubt it, they are by nature from a distance so more difficult for the viewer to follow

they'll care if they get competition though

I'd be happy seeing the drone angle in home straight at the same speeds as they are showing lv now.
The drone pics most are paying for are level with rtv (top table will be good bit faster) so must be some advantage for them to pay for same speeds

the drone pics they showed on replays at kelso last week were far superior to the headon **** they showed live, both for in runners and casual viewers

drone and rtv similar spped but angle last 2f worlds apart.

They like to zoom in on the runners at the finish.
They cant do that from the drone its no where near as good a camera or static enough

at all the big meetings we get the roadside pictures so its only logical that that will be replaced by a drone which will offer a better angle

ie a bit higher up and so more horses in shot

they run a cable parallel to the stands for the last 2 furlongs with a camera on it , like they have for american football and athletics  , and this can be operated by the people in the studio.

stream that picture over the internet where people have the choice to watch the side on angle for the last 2 furlongs or normal camera for RTV

Shafty, mugs READILY buying dead odds was never going to last forever. Your obvious problem is you're still trying to extract in the same way you've always done, even knowing the well is not providing what it used to. And there's simply no excuse for it. No excuse for you not to have adapted your ways. You have the weight to be far more aggressive and impose yourself on the market. You remain a shark at the back end of the waters when you should really be roaming the front end.

thats simply down to opinion..i lay a hd down 50yds out..still struggle to avoid crumbs.

Very juddery on all latencies for me pre-race. Race went ok. Gruss have switched to microsoft edge , it was quicker than firefox.
