appears to have taken lessons from Luke Harvey. Everyone is "lovely", all riders are talented and all trainers are excellent.

And everyone loves everyone else (actually that bit might be true Mischief.

Nauseating.

Also sticks to the ATR presenters' guide of saying after a race 'as I said beforehand' no matter what the outcome is. Though he uses the Chapman 'we' instead.

His whole life has revolved around racing and works innovatively for it`s best interests.

Perfectly acceptable individual for me.

Furthermore merely because someone's life has "revolved around racing" and "works for its best interests" is surely not reason to prevent objective discussion or criticism. Is it?

When trying to control nausea:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks.
Eat light, bland foods (such as saltine crackers or plain bread).
Avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.
Eat slowly and eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Do not mix hot and cold foods.
Drink beverages slowly.
Avoid activity after eating.

The above may help.

Josh was right about the origins of frost covers, although he was a year out. It was the early march meeting 2006.

THE euphoria among racing professionals at Newbury on Saturday was understandable and justified. Overnight temperatures of -7C had caused neither doubt nor disruption and the legacy of the enterprise that saved the meeting is that jump racing need never again be a hostage to frost.

For years, raising the possibility of completely covering a course risked derision. BBC Radio even ran an April Fool item on it, so absurd was the scenario considered. Yet Newbury’s management confronted scepticism with an initiative that should have far-reaching implications. Cheltenham now has similar contingency plans if frost threatens.

Frost-beating protective covers have had to be laid at a racecourse to make sure a major weekend event goes ahead.

It is the first time the method has been used at Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire to protect the ground from the ongoing cold snap.

More than 2,000 sandbags have been used to hold down the material, sourced from local soft fruit growers.

Racegoers will be asked to help replace the covering after the two-day event's first races on Friday.

More than 30 full-time and temporary ground staff began laying the covering on Tuesday, which was completed on Wednesday afternoon.

Mark Kershaw, the course's managing director, said: "We believe we are the first racecourse in the country to try this method and are very hopeful that it will make a significant difference to the prospects of the meeting going ahead.

"The challenge will be to get the covers back down after racing on Friday before the temperature dips low enough for frost to set in, and we will be appealing to racegoers to stay on after racing to help the ground staff with this mammoth task."

Mick Fitz gets a swipe earlier in this thread but on that Friday evening in March 2006 he, along with his trainer NIcky Henderson, joined in in the pitch dark and freezing cold to help lay the covers and were there until nearly 8pm getting the task finished.

Mr Big was worried about his supper, but had been reassured by Kershaw that Fish & chips would be available afterwards.

But Barry Cope bugggered off early.

Big was distraught and immediately phoned a Thatcham curry house and placed a gargantuan order that we could pick up on the way home.

Bloody hell!

That had been completely erased from my diminishing memory.
Forgot that Hughie Morrison was out there with us.

That was probably about the time that he took over Summerdown Stables at East Ilsley from Shafter Sherwood who had used his Father Nat's fortune to build it. Couldn't train a winner from there and sold it saying it was cursed.

Hughie couldn't stop turning out winners there right from the start!
