if RTV BLV is now less than 1 sec behind live then there are a heck of a lot of crystal balls with a 100% strike rate on the market just now...

Thanks for the replies lads, much appreciated.

Cheers hibs. I'll start on the pear cider.

I think we are all misreading it.
What theyre saying is that the speed we have now is half a second quicker than the speed that was implemented initially in April, which we sort of know to be true as it sped up a little. They are now saying imo that we should be back to the speed we were promised by the end of this year. It would have been easier to say they hope to have the trial speed by the end of the year and left it at that rather than confusing with the statement theyve put out. |
By:
Reread it theyve not said its been sped up, theyre saying it sped up from the initial deployment which it did back in June or July.
Theyre saying it should be upto the promised speed by the end of the year |
By:
I don't think that is what they mean TT...not when they say it is now under 1 second behind live which is nonsense unless ofc they mean
from 2mro RTV’s new Watch & Bet service has greatly reduced latency and now operates at less than one second from live on multiple device types. That is currently c.0.5 seconds faster than the previous Flash player solution |
By:
can't be thunder as it's deffo 1.5 seconds now.
By:
i haven't heard it referred to as the new "watch and bet" thinking maybe new graphics coming?
By:
I took it as they are saying it's faster right now/2mro than today and will be EVEN faster again by the end of the year
By:
anyone who thinks RTV BLV is under 1 sec behind live needs to make an appointment with their local GP very quickly imv...
absolutely no chance. as was discussed this afternoon if anything it is slower over the last few days if anything. and why is chelmsford level with RTV ch426 tonight...? |
By:
I read the RMG press release for Champions Day which stated that their streaming would be less than 1 second behind. I contacted RMG to ask if they were using the new low latency stream this Saturday. They aren't. Champions Day will be the normal RTV stream and graphics. I suggested that I and others believe the stream to be more than 1 second behind (my guesstimate is 1.2 behind). They claim the current stream we watch now is 0.9 behind live. I very much doubt it's 0.9 behind. As others have mentioned, playing off today's pictures at Carlisle and Wincanton, I felt way more than 1 second behind the drones and those using the faster stream.
Hopefully the stream will become faster over the next few weeks, though whether we reach the trial speeds of February is another question. |

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- if it's under 1 sec behind live that is what they are saying james... will see what tomorrow brings but i have my doubts. today was horrific and the last few days have regressed as far as i'm concerned. |
By:
I think tonights slower, but some tracks differ dont they ?
I know its hard to believe sometimes but it is generally under a second behind live |
By:
don't believe it tt...
sorry about that. they'll never give us the speeds they gave us in the february / March trials imv... if they took away those silly graphics nobody ever reads it could be done NOW... and they think folk bet more due to their graphics...? dear god. |
By:
so Chelmsford is normally the same ahead as other tracks are over ch 426...
but tonight they are the same speed... why tt...? |
By:
maybe they mean .9 behind the raw feed/fast trial lv, cause that's what we are behind the fast trial in feb, give or take a mili
we are 1.5 behind on rtv where the trial was around .6 behind......there's their .9 |
By:
That makes no sense, if they don't change the speed then it's the same as it was on the 14th august!
On the 14th august betfair issued an APOLOGY about the current speed, now looking for plaudits foe the same thing???? |
By:
we've been led up the garden path and $h1t upon from a great height...
there's no other way to look at it. |
By:
HH ive no idea why tonight, i just put it down to different tracks different speeds which is often said. I dont always understand why prices have seemed to disappear so quick and today ive no idea why its played so hard, maybe theyve been slower than normal.
I think Betfairs statement is open to interpretation and maybe they should simplify it for us |
By:
In all honesty im more pi$$ed off with the Sky picture 6 weeks in and nobody gives a damn.
Betfair wont address it on here, and Sky seem that they couldnt care less to improve it. In the meantime this place in running with the racing is going down the pan liquidity wise, even though im sure Covid isnt helping with finances being tight |
By:
Lv is usually always faster than rtv sky regardless of the track speed differences, I think anyway
Cannot remember the last time my lv was level with sky at an rtv track especially in uk...ire seem a tad closer most times altho lv still usually just ahead |
By:
thebootman has simplified it for us tt...
we're being told the RTV BLV is now 0.9 secs behind live... most of us think it's utter poppyc0ck... they say they will try and speed them up over the next few months... i think it's always been a case of them continually saying they are going to speed them up and then getting to the stage we are at now where they say they have sped them up and i for one don't believe it... so if Chelmsford is 0.9 secs behind live tonight then so is ch426... yet we were told ch426 couldn't be speeded up where we not...? so that doesn't add up for starters. those folk who had their crystal ball out for the bumper at Carlisle must be laughing at all this. |
By:
If it was .9 behind, some of the facetimers were/are in the future ahead of live
they drive some nice cars but never seen any of them in a delorean....yet |
By:
If it was .9 behind, some of the facetimers were/are in the future ahead of live
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- correct james... which is why it's a load of rubbish. |
By:
haydock ch426 ahead of RTV BLV here...
work this one out...????? |
By:
Aye, tv fractionally ahead.
By:
we were told ch426 could NOT be speeded up...
so RTV BLV has been slowed down is the only plausable explaination... Chelmsford BLV was level last night and now Haydock BLV is behind... deary deary me... |
By:
Yes same here, i've passed the info onto RTV.
By:
RTV really have got their nickers in a twist with this nonsense...
By:
thanx for that thebootman...
By:
Thanks bootman
By:
Leopardstown BLV slightly ahead of ch426...
![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
would not it be great if rtv and blv was 0.9 sec behind it would be fair to everyone.
By:
tbh my haydock was too, couldnt understand what others were getting at
By:
*that was to HH
By:
it's all to c0ck imv dustybin...
they are running around like headless chickens... the solution is very simple... they gave us it in February ffs... why they don't just deliver it now is beyond me... coz they are making a complete dogs dinner of it if you ask me. |
By:
Haydock 1:10...
my ch426 still slightly ahead of BLV... |
By:
I take that back
BLV is behind @ haydock |
