Its all superposition!! Second peaks mean nothing if the first peak didn't do the harm that it was predicted to do. I think the Uk has been compliant to this point because of the generous furlough scheme. Apparently a lot of people are better off as they save the cost of travel to work and childminding. The government is proposing to reduce its contribution at the end of June and you may well see a different attitude.  A friend of mine who work for a big accounting firm that does valuations on retail properties told me that a lot of retail companies are expecting real problems when they return and any return of this over the winter period that effects xmas trade will wipe them out. The demand for things like jewellery, high end clothes etc is expected to be very low. Public opinion will soon turn against the government if the economy takes too big a hit and the tories are well aware of this.

I think public opinion will quickly go against this government. They have tried to be all things to all people and failed. They started off with their herd immunity plan which soon turned in to 2 month of lock down. They really cannot afford to let the economy crash. I never thought Labour would ever get in again in my lifetime but with the way this is going I can see the tories getting shafted (excuse the pun) Willie.

The virus may not know your status, but your status definitely impacts on how it affects you. It's easy to make decisions to lock people down if the impact on you is minimal.

Its apparent by now its only really effecting people who fit certain criteria,elderly people,and people with predetermined/undetermined heath problems with reduced immunity,i only know of 1 person thats allegedly succumbed to c19...the problem being is,if the government didnt introduce a lockdown the carriers who it isn't effecting would spread it to those it would,resulting in many more deaths...im aware many health workers/doctors have lost their lives but did these have undetermined low immunity caused by other problems?,there are millions of health workers but only a minor % have realistically succumbed.
i'm still waiting for one of the doylems who've ignored the restrictions to suffer any consequences.

its now lockdown in name only...the country is pretty much doing what they want as regards socialising.

Regardless of whether the decision is right or wrong I would like to think the people making it have some empathy with those that are affected by it. For many years now I believe the political classes have very little regard for those that vote them in. Promise everything to get elected (like the silly labour campaign) and deliver very little.
