Emailed betfair to ask if they were covering this meeting and any others, reply is:
We have been informed that we will be offering French racing from next week. We will be definitely be offering Longchamp on the 11th of May and Saint-Cloud on the 12th of May. Other races will be confirmed closer to date.
They are clearly trying to get the maximum time between the first race and the last but as they don't have bookmakers I don't know why. It would have made more sense to have the main meeting, Longchamp, at the best time of day but they want to start with a bang. I suppose it is a 10.55 start in Paris.

While British racing waits to learn whether it can spring back to action in the coming weeks, the sport in France is in the midst of fevered preparations for Monday, when strict precautions will be in place for the resumption of action at three tracks.
Despite a late anxious moment on Friday in France have persuaded the government that racing should be allowed to go ahead and they have done so without committing to a regime of Covid-19 tests for the participants.
Access will be strictly controlled for Monday’s racing at Longchamp, within three miles of the Eiffel Tower, as well as at Compiègne in the north and Toulouse in the south. The wearing of masks will be compulsory for all those present including the jockeys, who must keep their masks in place during races, a measure that has not been insisted upon for recent racing in Hong Kong and Australia. Racing professionals have been told there will be just one point of entry and exit at each track, and they must sign in on arrival, at which point their temperature will be checked. Owners and breeders will not be allowed to be present. Trainers can attend along with one member of staff per runner to attend to the horse, and the names of those stable staff must be notified to the course the previous day. A maximum of five media professionals will be allowed access.
Hand sanitiser dispensers will be available at various points and people will be encouraged to use them. Jockeys, trainers and staff have been told they should leave as soon as possible after their runners have taken part.
As another means of limiting the possible spread of infection, almost all buildings on the sites will remain closed, including private boxes, restaurants and the media centre. Only the weighing room and the stable sections will be opened and those present will be told to keep their time in those places to an absolute minimum. The grandstand steps can be used for viewing but can be accessed only from the front.
Jockeys will not be permitted to take showers or use the sauna and, like all other attendees, will be told to maintain a distance of 1.5m from each other, though obviously that will not apply during the races when the riders will inevitably be more closely bunched at times.
Racing professionals in France were sent a sternly worded message by the ruling body, France Galop, last week urging compliance with these restrictions and warning of what may happen otherwise. “The authorisation to race behind closed doors is revocable,” the statement said. “It depends on the commitment of each and everyone to scrupulously abide by the rules.” Officials will be on patrol to ensure compliance.
But the French have decided against other measures thought to be necessary in the UK. While British officials have delayed jump racing and limited Flat races to 12 runners to reduce the risk of injury and minimise any need to use NHS services, in France jump racing will resume immediately at Compiègne and no fewer than five hurdle races there Monday will have 18 runners taking part.

FOYLESWAR 10 May 20 17:15 liking the look of freddie heads ecrivain has a bit to find with the fav but not a lot and could improve a fair bit and around 7/1 is fair ,interesting that a few of these take the fav on again ,fav obviously the one to beat on last seasons form but odds on i will be taking him on .
Came on to post much the same analysis FW.
7/1 each way looks a great bet - wide draw is the only possible negative.
One other reason to think he may get closer the favourite this time is that in the Criterium he was stuck on the inside whereas VL came wide, which seemed to be better ground.

I know Bf scrapped Place Markets for French racing last year or so but its hard to fathom why they would not do a U turn on it while there is nothing else going on.
Can anyone request it via Twitter as I believe thats the only way to contact them now. Cheers

First race looks a bit of a minefield with nothing standing out, Batwan might run a decent race if fit, second in this last year. Good luck anyone playing.

Asking a lot of the horse after two wins at 7f and a place at 6f? Maybe the soft going will bring stamina to the fore? but its very soft which is another unknown.

So apart from the raw feeds and maybe SIS (not sure on speed pics these days for that) is the majority just left with ATR as the bookies live videos are ridicolously slow since the end of flash. I was hoping to get involved today but looks like its back to home schooling the kids

Wouldn't dream of having a punt in the next race but its noticeable that there's 18 runners, makes me wonder why we are restricting field sizes to just 12 in this country when racing does resume. There's no social distancing once the race starts so why worry about field sizes?

Foyles, Victor Ludorum looks a worthy favourite, but Helter Skelter was given far too much to do against him last time and was closest at the finish, beaten just over a length in the end, but, VL came the long way round and looked a cosy winner, but at the prices I've backed Helter Skelter each way at 5/1.

Good luck with yours too Foyles, not too much luck though !! I'll miss the race due to work and I'll miss Khayzaraan's race as well, my only other bet.

I'm also with Helter Skelter (as mentioned earlier on this thread) and backed it (6.0 win only) on here early this morning. I was debating whether to lay the fav and would have done at the ante-post of 4/7 but not at 1.7 it was before i left for work.
He could have improved since last year and win easily, Fabre appeared to to be bullish in the RP, but i saw his Arc day win and although he showed a good turn of foot, he wasn't drawing away and HS was full of running in the last 1/2f. With a different ride (and draw) he may even have won. As stated he was the one i took out of the race. Good luck.

Hitting the crossbar so far. I put up a place bet on My Charming Prince but went for a better price that was not taken and then backed Tarifa at 6.4. I did lay it off but still no profit. Both were near the top on RPR so they are not far off for French form.

foxy11 May 20 09:10Joined: 26 Dec 00 Are there spectators there ?
It looks like it on the tv
No spectators Foxy but certainly looks more there than will be allowed over here should racing get the nod. Social distancing in France is only 1 metre which is also noticeable.

I see France has 10 races today. It gave me the thought that whenever we return there could be 12 race cards as they will all be confined to the track in the first meetings. They could get a load of maidens out of the way and give a few more 2yo's their first outing. Is there a reason they can't do this?

cheers john. i think that's what happens when you let people wfh and they're that busy watching homes under the hammer they haven't realised the 33/1 winners trading at 18.5 on the exchange

well it didn't take long to get back to normal - some absolute shockers from so-called 'top' French jockeys but two great front running rides on the last two (outsiders) winners

I'd have some doubts about both Tropbeau and Khayzaraan getting a mile on that ground and think Quiet Times is a monstrous price for a filly who'll want at least eight furlongs. Am therefore ball's deep.

some weird results, the old grey flashing home there, backed into 22's from 100/1. sirtis just before the off, someone took everything from 12.5 to 8.4

Literally nothing technical, just because of the crawl and sprint nature only imo being built into the price to a degree.
Havent had a bean on id of been 5/5!
