Thoughts from everyone if it will be on Betfsir exchange?  Will sky sports pick it up? Racingtv - are they gonna do anything through lockdown besides showing replays of Newbury December meeting replays! Time for someone to step up and by the rights to show live!

Shout if you know any info- if you know if betfair have done German races b4 outside their derby. Holding on to bf doing full service and we have some more live horses to bet on!

bf used to run german racing on a regular basis until maybe 18 months ago, then they would cover maybe the odd group one and only the individual race not the whole card
Report elise April 15, 2020 6:41 PM BST
and just to add, the german proposal is the same as the UK, they'd like to race but need approval, as far as i'd heard the government had not agreed that they could restart

Grosser Preiss will be the only german race you'll get a sniff at seeing IMO...september time

Really, I thought they had government back?  Read about french proposal earlier - that def needs gift backing as only schools open from 11th. So little betting will go on given pmu terminals are in cafes bars etc.

Back to German - surely betfair would cover? Do they ever read these posts and reply?  I’d ask on twitter but the response there is poor and uneducated. Asked which Japan meetings would be covered tomorrow to someone last week. They said bf doesn’t offer Japanese racin* when they still had two meetings for that day live

as far as I know, it's dependent upon go ahead from govn and not a done deal, same for south africa, if they get the ok they have drawn up a racing program to get them back racing and are ready to go

re whether bf cover it, they might given the lack of afternoon options, it's usually a bit better than the swedish

Very unlikely.

Angela Merkel has allowed a minor relaxing of the rules from next Monday (small shops can trade) and schools will open on May 4th, but public events are banned until end of August.

Social distancing to remain in place.

Horse racing in Germany will resume behind closed doors from May 1, the country's racing authority has announced.

Deutscher Galopp has published a provisional six-week racing programme that will begin at Hanover and run until the meeting at Munich on June 15.

All the fixtures, which have been chosen in locations with the intention of keeping travel to a minimum, will be staged with no spectators.

A number of Group 2, Group 3 and Listed races are on the schedule including the German 1,000 Guineas, to be run at Dusseldorf on June 7.

Germany has reported 105,000 COVID-19 cases so far but has a far lower mortality rate than other European countries.

Dr Michael Vesper, the president of Deutscher Gallop said arrangements for the meetings would be made in conjunction with regional authorities.

“We are certain that we can reliably meet the requirements for the restrictions that continue to be necessary,” he said.

Due to the necessity of having no spectators, prize-money will be cut by 50 per cent but minimum levels of €3,000 will be retained.

Deutscher Galopp has also asked participants to halve their fees and German betting companies to waive all fees until there is a full resumption of racing.

“This is a bridging period between the phase without races and the one with races in front of spectators. It therefore lasts as short as possible and as long as necessary,” said Jan Pommer, managing director of Deutscher Gallop.

Pommer said all races will be broadcast live and free of charge on the Deutscher Galopp website and other digital platforms during this period.

Did you know that if you walk into a German betting shop, you can bet on several sports, but not horse racing, even German.

A trip to Munich races is well worth it, great little track viewing great, needless to say food and drink really nice. Quite sure no problem with BF full coverage.

Fantastic news, hope the UK is up and running by mid May, or at the very least June.
