If I'm in the pub with no teletext now I can always ask someone with a smart phone to look up for me. (I do have one but not smart enough to use it)

dealer, the phone I have cost £20 from Argos, no data but unlimited calls and texts for £5 per month. I doubt if there's a cheaper deal.

Not for me dealer. I'm happy enough to be able to inter-pate the form the way I see it and back accordingly.

Smartphones are not that easy for some of us. I have a type of dyspraxia (not the same as mart's) and there is no way I could use the keyboard on a normal smartphone. Could probably manage one with an attached keyboard but they are few and far between and the phones themselves cost £100s before you have some sort of plan.

ss I paid approx. 150 for my smartphone about five years ago and after many attempts found it too frustrating. It's not connected now but still use it for taking photos only.

you don't need to buy one SS, for about £20 a month which includes you data package you get one. if you know anyone who can download the apps for you, racing post, betfair, sporting life etc you don't need to type anything in

if you don't want to use one thats fine, just answering the OP's opening post, its all there at your finger tips. it really isn't that hard.

What's the battery life in a tablet hello?
By:
hello :-)

pretty good battery life stewart , a lot better than a phone as your not using it as much

Just looked at this one. Six hours battery life depending on usage. That would most probably do me.

Will investigate further.

so are you tech savvy enough to connect a tablet to the internet then?

I can just about use a tablet but only with the help of a stylus and even then on the (too small) one I have at the moment it's not easy. I watch people pressing away on smartphones and have no idea how they do it.

salmon, as we get older our fingers just aren't so nimble. I use a pretty up to date phone when on the course but with difficulty. I absolutely hate texting where I continually have to correct typing errors.

ok, well if you just want a bigger screen and don't need a full on laptop or tablet, consider an amazon fire, start at about 50 quid, you can use internet, read books and watch films, will be more than capable of doing the job you need for half the price
