Why does the trainer know any more than any decent punter? The horse is a prize ponce, the reace fell apart, I would not take any notice of Fitzy to be honest, there is not a jockey anywhere who would have won on that today.

The irony is, and with the benefit of seeing the good run of the horse, if PP did run L'ami may have been able to nut him on the line.

I've no doubt given the chance that Nico would ride that different and would have found (or at least tried harder) a way to try and hold onto it for another furlong.Whether he could have is the big question imo.

To the other extreme on Kildisart there, never ever put it in the race, always too far back, why do these clowns do that.

Winner finished like a rocket ship though...not sure how much more L’Ami would’ve had in the tank had he been held up.

Obviously more than we saw but enough to beat off the winner?

ELG,That horse has one short sharp burst of pace that has to be kept til the last possible minute but it would have been fascinating to see if it could have got past on the run in.

100% spot on.  No one knows if he would have won still, but it is the best chance the horse has in his races.  It needs to be held up until the last second possible and then produced for that burst.
