Betfair Video problems

The browser providers are increasingly keen to discourage use of Flash by turning it off by default.  Personally I am happy with that (Flash is a security nightmare) and I don't mind enabling it on a case-by-case basis.

I don't use Firefox (Chrome is much better with the BF site) but these instructions may help you permanently enable Flash video for the few remaining weeks of its life:

That's a very good question.   When the non-Racing sports starting moving their LV off Flash in the summer, there was a lot of upset - all the alternatives seem to have much greater delay (because they're designed to send high-quality video for entertainment purposes, they use a multi-second buffer to enable maximum compression).

It has nothing to do with your computer or any browsers.

Messing around with your settings can make the situation worse. Trust me.

The setting to always activate the Adobe Flash plugin was removed in Firefox version 69

if you load livevideo.betfair.com then once flash is enabled, then it stays enabled for all subsequent races

When it happened to me neither my iMac nor my wifes iPad could get the live feed so that eliminates the computer theory.

I’ve always had to activate Adobe Flash by hand for every web page that uses it not just Betfair.

That's a very good question.   When the non-Racing sports starting moving their LV off Flash in the summer, there was a lot of upset - all the alternatives seem to have much greater delay (because they're designed to send high-quality video for entertainment purposes, they use a multi-second buffer to enable maximum compression).

Using the Bet365 streams, it's obvious that the delay has massively increased. Some sports you can't bet in-play as you're so far behind. Horse racing, if they can't find a solution by the time the Flash has also been converted over, will be massively impacted.
