" technical limitations". Where / what else could they do with Doubles , Trebles and accs it ran its self

I wondered where Ratner had gone after his jewellery business ,he must work for Betfair . This has to be the worst management decision in the history of running profitable companies . Whoever thought this idea up must be nuts .Rival companies must be howling at that decision .

all guns blazing taking the survey but it won't make any difference, don't know why we bother

Another wonderful decision following the withdrawal of numerous US place markets. Are they trying to run the Exchange into the ground so everyone will bet on their Sportsbook bookmaking rubbish?
By:
sorry betfair but your making a right ricket with this i wont be using betfair when this happens ..still it will save me a right few quid
By:
There should be a mass boycott of Betfair Sportsbook in response to this.
Absolutely ridiculous. |
By:
There have been some massive BFSPs yesterday and today. I wonder whether they have taken a big hit and the technical limitations refer to their hedging software not working properly.

Might of been Frankie what done it.

Dear all, We regret to announce that as of Thursday 29th August, the Exchange Racing multiples product (mutiples.betfair.com) is being permanently decommissioned due to technical limitations. We apologise for the short notice but hope, where possible, you will continue to place your racing multiples with Betfair via the Sportsbook. Please also keep in mind that BSP betting is still available on the Exchange. Regards, Betfair Customer Service |

this is a joke , "technical limitations" my arse.just trying to drive you to more profitable sportsbook. why do you think we use the exchange to start with. no doubt other savvy gamblers like myself already barred from BOG etc.....so now running out of options since betfair sold their soul to paddy power.
By:
I'm not a big gambler , but the exchange multiples were often my bet of choice . Sad to see it go . Just like I was sad to see the loss of the Tote credit Club offices at racecourses . I won't bother with the survey , as I think it's pointless . Accountants running and ruining so many things nowadays with their short sighted balance sheet mentality .

it was great as well they stopped that few years back when you could lay on the multis

copy of email complaint sent to support.en@betfair.com , let's bombard them with complaints........"Good morning ,
I write to complain about your decision communicated by email , text copied below , to withdraw horse racing BSP multiples. The reason I use Betfair is because of the extra value from exchange betting , as you are more than happy to advertise. This value is compounded on multiples betting. I can't believe that in a world of rapidly improving technology you are stating " technical limitations " as the reason for withdrawing this facility which has been operating for many years. I can't help but think this is just a means to drive people to use the more lucrative sportsbook. As the sportsbook represents just a normal poor value bookmaker and I have been barred from promotions including BOG I shall not be using it for my multiple betting. I would urge you review this decision. Regards , John Coleshill. " We regret to inform you that as of Thursday August 29th the Exchange Racing multiples producthttp://multiples.betfair.com/is being permanently decommissioned due to technical limitations. We apologise for the short notice but hope, where possible, you will continue to place your Racing multiples with Betfair via our sportsbook. Please also remember BSP betting is still available on the Exchange. We are keen to gather as much feedback as possible on the benefits of the product and what drove you to use the product. Not long after they started i turned about £2 on sat eve into 11k by Monday evening. Put the £2 on a winner then did a £1.03 crowley yankee at salisbury eve card with 3 winners 1 at 20's and on the Sun did a fehily heinz (only ever done abut 3 in my life) and yankee at Southwell that had the same 3 winners and a nr. Did a few other bets and from memory it was during the Ashes and won on that as well, withdrew a fair chunk of it the next day with no pc or owt. haven't done them much recently mind.

Does the Daq offer racing multiples?
By:
not on their exchange
By:
Since when
By:
Of course, as it has been pointed out on here before, all multiples can be boiled down to singles and therefore done manually on the exchange. In fact, this is better value because the commission will be below 5% AND the bettor has the flexibility to 'cash out' if he/she desires.
The big drawback though is that this manual method requires you to be present at the exchange interface before each race (and after your last result). It also requires some working out to decide your running-on money. |
By:
Also, I don't think Paddy Power took control of the exchange multiples. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong no doubt.

By:
ah yes keep forgetting about PC
How was that Easterby nag over 500/1? I reckon that sickened them |
By:
yes swift , but for me and a lot of others, i used to play £2 OR £5 stake on the maximum 8 legs and select as many horses as i want in each race and it only cost me the one stake, cant do that on any other sites.PS,carrott, was the since when to me, i dont go on daq much but i havent come across their multis, sorry if i was wrong, i,ll have a look later
By:
I only ever do single bets on the exchange or elsewhere so am asking a genuine question. I'm a bit puzzled as to how you get people to lay a potential huge payout. Are these really part of the exchange proper ?
By:
must be a bit of a money spinner given the outcry over it's demise. got 4 days left to find out ..
By:
salmon as far as i know the betfair multis on the exchange are covered by betfair itself.
By:
If that's correct elisjohn then multis are not part of the exchange model.
I've had a look at the page for the first time ever and although I haven't entirely grasped it it looks as though they are based on BFSP. In that case they can't have existed this time 12 years ago. I happen to know because at the time I was running a lay comp and I was getting a lot of stick because I was having to use ISP.I was able to start using BFSP in 2008 when it was introduced. |
By:
There are multiples on "purple" they might say sportsbook but the prices are from the exchange
By:
i dont know when these multis started, but ia good few years back you were able to back and lay on them, and on soccer as well, but they stopped the laying on them probably 4/5 years back.im sure some out there will know much better than me. Carrott i,ll have a good look at the purple site later, too engrossed in cricket at moment

copy below of email just sent to Racing Post , will they publish ?
" Dear Sir , Betfair have recently announced " We regret to inform you that as of Thursday August 29th the Exchange Racing multiples producthttp://multiples.betfair.com/is being permanently decommissioned due to technical limitations. We apologise for the short notice but hope, where possible, you will continue to place your Racing multiples with Betfair via our sportsbook. Please also remember BSP betting is still available on the Exchange. " I don't believe for a minute the reason for doing this , how in a world of rapid technological improvements can an established product be affected by technical limitations. The reason has got to be pure profiteering , a result of Betfair selling their soul to Paddy Power. I will not be moving to sportsbook or any other " standard " bookmaker for my weekly TV multiple interest bet and give example below to illustrate why I'm not prepared to accept 20% , yes 20% lower returns. 56 x 13p trebles....8 selections , 5 winners Betfair SP - Industry SP. Indianapolis..........9.03 - 7/1 Power of darkness....4.37 - 11/4 Sapa inca......5.86 - 4/1 Victory day.....2.92 - 7/4 Addeybb.......2.26 - 11/10 Actual BSP Multiples return ......£110.57 Theoretical ISP return................£88.03 " |

By:
elisjohn
they have always been there the only difference being you take the price available at that time not sp so you know the potential returns |
By:
Frankly if Bf/PP ARE standing as layers to these at BFSP I'm amazed they've lasted as long as they have.
By:
Hi Salmon spray , The worry is that the new business model of BF/PP is no longer happy with making profit on exchange markets with overounds of 101% and will close all exchange betting to force people onto "normal" markets with overounds of 120%.
By:
ive been on daq now, and i get accas on soccer, but nothing on horse racing
By:
daq HAVE STOPPED taking multis on the exchange on horses, but now we can do them on their new sportsbook that they introduced few weeks back, just phoned their helpdesk
By:
There's a difference coey and that is their rake from the exchange model proper is risk-free. Laying them themselves isn't and it's hardly a viable business model if not only you but your competitors are laying them much shorter.
By:
They havent stopped taking them the sports book prices are closely matched to the exchange prices on purple Pactolus is 11/1 on both exchanges yet is 8/1 on the betfair sportsbook yet 11/1 on the **** sportsbook
By:
carrott, i apologise if you think i was being (not sure of the word) with my HAVE STOPPED , wasnt directed at you , i only wanted to point out to all, that yes the multis on daq are now like you say on their sportsbook site .
By:
Can one do antepost multiples eg The Leger and Arc? If so, how plz?
By:
yes, no problem on sportsbook, but there might be restrictions, but im restricted to peanuts on singles, but theyre much better on accas etc.
