Another fine run from one of his horses lol.
Report blackbarn May 17, 2019 5:21 PM BST
Horses running too bad to be just the trainer.  Ustath was the last nail, as that horse is ultra consistent.  Laraaib looking like a lay tomorrow now if it runs. Been pretty grim since the talented Wadilsafa ran way below expections on May 1st.

4-1-1-1-1-5-8-4-12-7-7-6-12-5-1-3-8-7-13-14.

Last twenty runners,RP RTF 29%.

Make of that what you will.

tons of sobs, unlike granit maybe, I am well aware of his win stats. The problem is that the class/fancied ones are running seriously below par. I hope Laraaib runs as well as expected tomorrow, and that the stable is in form for TabdeedCool and others, particularly the three or four nice Hamdan 2yo's that he has.   Mind you he had about 36 Hamdan 2yo's last year and had "nearly one" winner out of them on TurfCry.

Why don't you post something coherent and/or vaguely intelligent?

Interesting that his 3 (''flops?'') today were all coming off A/W runs, indeed non of the three had won on turf, with two of them being War Fronts(better win% A/W).

(I also thought the handicapper had been a bit harsh alloting Habub a rating of 93).

At least Laraaib has some decent turf form to his name,so tomorrow should tell us more about the ''health'' of the stable.
Report blackbarn May 17, 2019 9:16 PM BST
tons of sobs - Thanks for an intelligent post. You are right, but both Ustath (and Wadilsafa) had turf form, and many of those that came off the AW have run even worse than could reasonably have been expected. I agree with Habub, even I was tempted to lay it. As you say, Laraaib will be a good test.

I wasn’t aware of the recent stats but was very aware of last season’s stats with the 2 year olds. At risk of being accused of not posting anything ‘intelligent’ I’ll tone down a bit. Given last season’s 2 year old form and runs of the recent runners personally I can conclude that imo the guy just isn’t a very good trainer....I’ve yet to see evidence he is to be honest.

Yes it's difficult for punters to gauge stable health, the RP RTF although not infallible (what is in this gamePlain) is low, so along with punter doubts should at least give cause for caution, but then on the other hand 5 wins from 20 MAY just suggest a minor blip?.. lets hope for a good run tomorrow, and the stable firing on all six for Royal Ascot.Happy

Laraaib & Talaayeb, two of his best, if not the two best horses he had?

It started off well with Laraaib in terms of progression, but it seems he puts in a good run off a break, like when running well against Poet's Word last season, but then the RPRS decline until he has another break.

And this pattern can be seen with Talaayeb as a 3 and 4yo.

Both sparingly raced too.

Granit - so what exactly were you very aware of re his 2yo season stats for last season?  Just what I posted or something else?  Try to reply without looking it up.
Report granitjack May 17, 2019 9:46 PM BST
It’s been posted on this forum previously. Here we go again you trying to criticise for no reason....nothing ever changes does it on here....
Report blackbarn May 17, 2019 9:50 PM BST
Granit - Yes, I know it was probably me who posted it. I am being critical because you are now trying to appear informed without the fainted idea what you are trying to appear informed about. What are you very aware of, apart from what I posted, re Burrows 2yo stats.  Its easy unless you are making it up.
Report blackbarn May 17, 2019 9:54 PM BST
George B - Agree, but Massaat has probably been the best horse he's had, and may still be apart from injury.
Report granitjack May 17, 2019 9:54 PM BST
I’m not talking about your post previously on this thread, I’m talking previously posted on this forum end of....some time ago. Why you always have to be quite so much of a bell end is beyond belief really.

Thanks Granit. Let me help you.  The total picture which you have not read on here, except from me, is that Burrows was sent 36 2yo's for last season by Sheikh Hamdan, more than any other of his trainers, and more than any other TWO of his other trainers combined. His record with those 2yo's was not terrible - 4 wins from 34 runs but what was odd is that he was only able to produce enough turf 2yo's to run 12 times without any success. And this from Sheikh Hamdans premier 2yo trainer of choice. Presumably you were aware of all thisWink
Report granitjack May 17, 2019 10:14 PM BST
All in all he’s not a very good trainer that’s the point....stats included or not included...no difference.
Report GEORGE.B May 17, 2019 10:17 PM BST
Cheers blackbarn, forgot about him, but interestingly enough, the same pattern is there, best runs off a break and then there's no progression in the RPRs..
Report blackbarn May 17, 2019 10:23 PM BST
So you didn't know then Granit.  No bother!

George - re Massaat - he was always very fragile and it was very disappointing when he was retired early due to injury. I think he could be good value at stud. We'll see of course.

Ran well 6/4 the plaice.
Report blackbarn May 18, 2019 2:32 PM BST
George - nice performance by Laraaib, beaten easily but rated nearly a stone lower than the winner. Off to RA now.
Report GEORGE.B May 18, 2019 2:35 PM BST
Tbf blackbarn, he has probably improved his RPR there. Willo was suggesting something abroad like the Canadian International for the horse, but would he want it rattling?
