It was probably on the quick side when scrambled home at Nottingham acey, so suppose the question should be
Is he going to prove as good on a quicker surface?
Cuz the eyecatching run at Newbury on debut and the two wins there, ground deffo on the easy side

Just for info, Sheikh Hamdan sent Tregoning 5 2 year olds for last season (including Mohaather). He has nine this season. In his interview he said he likes Showcasings (Mohaather's sire). He has three two year olds by him for this season; nicest on pedigree looks to be the one out of Group class Must Be Me. Not sure if it is named yet.
Burrows has 30 Hamdan 2yo's!! Last season he had 36 and didn't get a single turf winner out of them (2 AW's I think)

Did a very good with Mohaather (and then Hamdan died) seems to be back in the cold and his own site has no 2 year olds from Shadwell listed. 1 winner from 30 runners in 2025https://marcustregoningracing.co.uk/horses-in-training/two-year-olds/
It was the 2006 Derby winner Sir Percy which I seem to recall, from an interview on the telly, he said he let go for £28,000 because his wife wanted a new kitchen. He wryly described it as the most expensive kitchen in history !
Fair play to the Pakenhams who were the lucky recipients of the largesse as they were patrons of Marcus T for a good while thereafter.

Hamdan really did check out at the wrong time for Marcus. he had Mohaather winning Sussex Stakes and the revival was on.
1 winner 39 Runners in 2025How do this business model work?Hamdan really did check out at the wrong time for Marcus. he had Mohaather winning Sussex Stakes and the revival was on.
Marcus has had issues an owner told me. They had a horse break down on pretty firm ground so decided not to run a load of horses until it changes. One out today as ground came right

Just to repeat what I said on another thread. It was not Marcus' decision to let Makfi go. Hth. Uberalles correct re ground - he has several still waiting for cut in the ground. I have a tiny slice of one.

Er. Not now! I think Moonjid is the last. There were two others, one filly gone to the paddocks, the other one sold. He may have an unraced 3yo but I think not. I think thats it.

No he has 2 2yo according to his very own sitehttps://marcustregoningracing.co.uk/horses-in-training/two-year-olds/BTW when I looked a few months ago they were not listed.
..Good morning friends....in truth, it's a long while since I was at his place...so long that he was still in Lambourn in those days. I do seem to recall part of the set up was to bring in fresh Yearlings for Shadwell, and then move them on, when ready, to the likes of John Dunlop, and Michael Stoute etc. Maybe I'm wrong, and the sands of time have dulled my memory !
By the way, a comical tale, ...many years ago, I was quite involved at Clarehaven Stables, where Alec Stewart trained several Shadwell horses....I would visit a couple of times each month, and otherwise would Phone Alec every Saturday morning about 11 am for his thoughts on any of his runners.....on one occassion I was on the phone to him when he said .." Sorry,I've got to go there's someone on the other line "....in my ignorance I said "well I was here first Alec , so tell them to bugger off!"........he said " I can't David, it's Sheihk Hamdan !"..........it was me that buggered off...lol

.....I won't start a new thread, but I noticed in the 14.37 race at Uttoxeter, that the favourite has been raised 24 pounds in one go by the handicapper after it's last race.(probably justified).
Is this the highest rise in one go ,do you reckon ?

OK Acey...sweet memories of good horses I'm guessing?..............I was just convinced, ( wrongly it seems), that when my partner and I had a couple of breeding mares, ( covered by Efisio at Highclere stud), that the newish foals were sent up to Kingsdown Stables to be nurtured before they went on to Newmarket. Isn't it terrible what time, and alchohol, can do to a brain .........nice chatting anyway..GL

...Me and my missus did,.. but the mares weren't great shakes....it was only " sonething to try out" really for my friend and myself.
I think the best one won it's first two races ( Southwell and York ), was second in it's next at Brighton ( jockey stupidity)....then it's bloody wind blew up, and we could never fix the problem...he then went to a riding school in Yorkshire somewhere...we only actually had the two live foals suitable to go into training...I think the other ended up winning a selling hurdle race at Towcester...and we accepted a bid......and that was the end of that folly...
Mr Magnier was never too concerned about us...
